I think tonight is a must win for the Sens, I don't like our chances going back to NY.

You also have to realize that he is a forward, its not like he is a defenseman or goalie, where mistakes are much more likely to be costly. If he's as good as predicted, why not take the chance?

EDIT: Not to mention he plays a two way game, unlike Butler and Stone.
He is young too, so he should be able to find energy to play, even though he might be going on fumes.

I think he will sleep like Endymion after the game.

My only concern is jet lag. He might have looked fantastic at the pre-game skate, it was prime time in Sweden. I bet Mac checks in on him before game time to see if he's starting to slow down.

Actually with you. He needs some practice time with the team and the smaller ice, as well as rest and let him absorb the intensity.. and let the gold paint wear off his body IMHO, it wouldn't be fair to pop him in tonight.

But I have complete trust in MacLean to make the decision, if he thinks it's ok, then it is.

This is very similar to the people that felt Stone shouldn't play in Game 5, how did that turn out??

Silfverberg made the Sens out of training camp, is one of the most talented players in hockey not in the NHL, he plays a two-way game and has an unbelievable shot.

Now exactly why wouldn't MacLean consider playing this kid?

MacLean is looking for offence, players like Stone and Silfverberg are more likely to produce than Klinkhammer or Butler.

Hoffman is another alternative, but his defensive game still needs work and he isn't as big as either Stone or Silf.

Goldberg or whatever his name is probably won't see more ice time than Stone did last game. Some powerplay time and the odd shift on the 1st/4th line.

Silfverberg-Spezza-Alfredsson
Foligno-Turris-Michalek
Greening-Smith-Neil
Condra-Konopka-O'Brien

I like the mix of toughness and skill in that line-up

I really think Silfverberg can do it, and open all kinds of eyes tonight. I hope we grab the opportunity by the balls!

Go Sens Go!

Have you seen Silfverberg's pictures? The guy is ripped, he is a hockey machine and only 21. He might be a bit tired after this crazy season but the adrenalyn he is on right now will surpass this easily.

I understand that jet lag is something to consider but if he did the right since the celebrations, he should be ok for 1 game. Even then, if he's tired Macstache can cut down his ice-time as the game goes on...

I figure he could see a little more time considering he's a better skater, but I agree that he'll get sheltered minutes.

Btw, with silfverberg getting #33 is that his normal number?
Because that's not in our usual temporary range.

You could start the first-period Alfie countdown a little early... like, start at 25000-ish?

Stone came from Manitoba, the time change wouldn't hurt him. Puck drop is at 1:00 am in Sweden.

I agree, a great offensive weapon is exactly what we should add to try to finish off Lundqvist. Jet lag's effect is more powerful than people give it credit for, and conditioning alone doesn't mitigate the effects. Hopefully the adrenaline helps and Silfver some good sleep yesterday and today.

he was always number 33 in Brynas, but decided to be a bamf and take number 100 for the 2nd half of this season
obviously since you cant be 100 in the NHL he will be 33. he is not a temp, he made the team out of training camp.

He's on the roster as a goalie. He won't be allowed to skate past center ice.

33 is the number he used for the majority of his career in Sweden I believe, so yeah I'd say that is what he will keep unless he is told he can't.
