What a boring round this was. No good series at all.
Pretty disgusted in the Jackals right now. For a team all year that over came and over came any and all adversity. A lot of firsts but the Postseason result was another fairly quick exit. This team overachieved with what went on, they got a lot of break, just finally felt like this would be the year.
Seeing Craig Rivet was awesome. He was an average NHL player I suppose, hes not a hall of famer to be or anything or was even a big name. But just the fact we got to see it was awesome. He may have been the best person we have ever had around here. Just a great guy. A lot of guys can go and tell the media what the fans want to hear but so few of his stature would actually follow through. I thought he would eventually bail, and after the foreclosure news I wouldn't have blamed him. He made it clear halfway through the season that this would be it. I just feel so bad they didn't win it for him. Some guys deserve a ring more than others, he definitely did, it just wasnt meant to be. Makes me hate some of the self-righteous stars who win even more.
Vegas and Alaska seems to be the case out West, they have had a spirited little past in the Playoffs.
Haven't seen the K-Wings in months. But Florida is on right now. I've never seen a team in the Playoffs dominate so much, they could play all 60 minutes on offense if they really wanted to. If Kalamazoo rises to the challenge it could be a heck of a series. I think 7 games could be expected. The K-Wings have a lot of experience on their squad with last years run.
Las Vegas eliminated the Steelheads in OT. Listened to the game and the Idaho announcer mentioned one player (Huxley?) snubbed the Steelhead coach in the shake line. What was that about?

Huxley played in Idaho the past 2 seasons and started this year here as well. Most of the veteran players who played here last year had issues with the coach. Huxley played 4 games at the beginning of the season and was obviously not into playing on this team and was released. He took being released rather personally. He didn't want to leave here but was happy to be away from Coach Sauter.
Side note: Huxley's first game with Vegas this year was a road game in Idaho a week after being released. In his second game he scored 2 goals in a 5-2 victory.
Here is the article I wote about that game. I didn't get a chance to talk to Hux after the game though.
Thanks for that.....I recall a thread about the coach having some issues with some players.....
Even after finally getting "some" results out of his team at the end of the year and a playoff series victory, when asked after the game last night if he thought he would be back Coach Sauter said. "In September I was told yes". But since then, with our not-so-spectacular record, nobody’s really talked about it. That’s something I’ll talk to (the Steelheads’ front office) about probably in the not-so-distant future.”
Given the fact that Dallas had little to no dealings with Idaho this year I would be shocked if he is here next year.
I will give him some credit in that he did find players during the season that would play his system (whatever that is) but most were rookies or very inexperienced pros who were out of work. Not a great quality for a heading up a "developmental" organization.
I guess so. Tifu did sort of kick your Jackals in the crotch a little this year.
Yeah he was a brat, got into it with the fans in the Playoffs. I know him and Sweet Daddy Leo had a rough go last year but I don't get why its our fault. The fans didn't like MC Hammer either.
Hey look, the Aces are getting screwed again! Apparently, due to "scheduling conflicts" with the Orleans Arena, the series between the Aces and the Wranglers has to be played in a 2-4-1 format.
Here are the dates...
Game 1 - Thursday, April 26, @ Orleans Arena, 6:05pm
Game 2 - Friday, April 27, @ Orleans Arena, 6:05pm

Game 4 - Tuesday, May 1, @ Sullivan Arena, 7:15pm
Game 5 - Wednesday, May 2, @ Sullivan Arena, 7:15pm

Four straight home games is a pretty good tradeoff.
It's already over. Puke. I hate Cruthers. For such talent he's a bit of a dirty player, hence he's still kicking it in the E eventhough he tore it up in Reading, a hot bed for getting real AHL chances.
He has a tendency to take some stupid penalties, I'll agree. That boarding penalty was especially stupid. However, he's worked out nicely as an agitator with a scoring touch, sorta reminds me of Lance Galbraith.
Tyson Marsh also had an amazing game as well for the Aces.
I was only at the second home game in Vegas. I felt the wranglers had more scoring talent. But I can't speak to what happened in Alaska.

You can disagree with me, but it wasn't because the Wranglers were the better team. The Aces just got lazy.
