As much as it pains me to say it, Callahan's reactions to these games are pissing me off. Every time: "We played a solid game/period." Guess what Cally, we're on the brink of elimination, patting yourself on the back for a solid period (as asinine as that description is) isn't going to get it done.
It's really not that. Gaborik has ZERO room to do anything. He is only one guy. He has great talent when given time and space. But they are playing him perfect and we have not one other elite player to distract them with. Every great team has a duo. We don't have that.
I don't see any emotions which is what makes me most upset. This is being desperate for a win? If it is, we can just stop playing now and give them the win. This is NOT the Rangers team I have seen this season. So dissapointed. They better show some emotions in the second.
Remember all the stat geeks telling us that, statistically the Rangers were in great shape because they scored more than 3 goals more often than blah blah blah blah blah. The writing was on the wall at the deadline. Nothing was done. Oh well. Just another chapter in the embarrassing history of the NY Rangers.
Too many contracts to hold onto when they are up need to take advantage now Rangers window for a stanley cup is not that wide. But they wanted to go with this so be it. But dont complain now about the offense. Where in the regular season the net is a net. In the playoffs its a pinhole. Plus a defenses tighten up. This offense was half sputtered during the regular season now it appears they have completely shut off. Still time though. this is really a discussion for after the season is over.
If Mitchell continues to get PP time while Kreider doesn't I will literally start cheering for a new team. Okay, maybe not, but I follow the rest of the league to consider it and not be disappointed by the result. Right now losing will hurt but losing without scoring, while John ****ing Mitchell gets REGULAR PP time is not acceptable. The guy is a 13th forward; he shouldn't even be CONSIDERED on the PP.
i don't even know right now. feel like the the Sens just have the momentum and confidence. If we can get a win and even it up then that levels the mental playing field a little. right now, they are playing like they will win. we aren't.
Now as to the period itself we had chances and the score is only 1-0. We just need to keep pluggin away. My only concern is with the way goals are hard to come by..if we get down 2-0 can we make it up at that point. Meaning the next goal is the most crucial really.
At the deadline I said, **** it pay the price for Nash, and I don't even like Nash. I'm really NOT sure he'd be the difference here but he IS one player who plays the way we need to be playing. He can create his own chances, that's for sure.
