To Philly or to the NHL?

It isn't, Vancouver just has a lot of knee-jerk reaction fans. Wanting a coaching change is understandable when you have a guy that's been around for so long but some of them even want to fire Gillis now

The NHL. He still has moves (!) and he clearly wants to be there, but he is simply too old. I think he will realise this and humbly retire no matter where the flyers place.

Bruins fan comes in peace. I wished he B's GM tried to get Cody from the Nucks- that kid has sniper ability. I am sorry to ask, but why did the Nucks trade him - Cody has great potential?

I agree. We could have used his speed but then who knows what could have happened with him. I wonder what other moves we are going to make. Should be an interesting summer.

Agreed, I don't think any GMs even make him an offer out of respect for him and all he has done for Detroit. It's not like he is going to move teams for a chance to win the cup, he still has a chance in Detroit.

Staal shouldn't be on the block...he is one of the few guys that actually showed up in the playoffs, not to mention he had a pretty good regular season. There are many other players i'd rather see gone before Staal, and that includes everyone on the defence and Fluery.

If your Schneider, would you rather be a backup on a contender or be a starter on a team that is at the bottom of the standings? I'm guessing any goalie would rather play 50/60+ games in a season. Also, if he feels he's a great goalie, then he might feel he could turn the bad team around. Money comes into play as well. As a starter, he will get way more money then being a backup for the Nucks. I hope the Jackets makes a phone call to Gillis at or before the draft. Or a call to his agent on July 1st.
Hard to believe that a team that views itself as a contender can afford to spend between $9-$10 million of cap space on goalies, so unless Schneider is willing to take far less than his worth, the discussion of how many games he needs is moot.

From an outsider's prespective I would kinda like to see Staal moved. Mainly just to see what the guy is capable of when he's being relied upon to be "the guy." Regardless of whether or not he flourishes or falls on his face, I think the guy deserves a chance somewhere. It would probably be tough to live in the shadow of Crosby and Malkin your entire career.

Other than Niskanen, he's really one of the few valuable pieces who might actually be moved that could bring back something.
Martin or the other D will bring a return, but not what's needed on the blueline. The only player who has that value is Staal.

I thought the Sharks improved with Havlat and Burns.

Alot of SJ's players dislike Kesler, but they are professionals so I'm sure they would try to make it work.

- Luongo
- Kesler? (I doubt it though)
- Weber? (if Suter leaves I wouldn't be surprised is Weber gets traded)
- I expect a goalie going to Chicago, whether through free agency or trade I don't know, players may be gone for one though.
- San Jose could be blown up this off season, everyone available, some require overpayment (the Couture's, etc)
- Iginla
- Kipper
- Statsny? (may want to move his contract now if O'Reily + Duchene is the future)
- Edmonton's 1st Overall Pick
- Nash
- NYR will stay pat if they beat Ottawa, if they don't I expect pieces not in the core to be moved possibly (Dubinsky?)
- Staal, Jordan?
- JVR? Their dominance over Pittsburgh without him shows they don't need him IMO.
- If Washington loses to Boston I think Green will be gone personally.
- Anyone on Buffalo, all that money spent and didn't make the playoffs, owner will not be happy and may demand to shed some salary.
- Toronto any of the LACK players, add in Schenn to make it SLACK?

I think it will be a very very very busy offseason. Many teams who have done well in the past had/will have early exits, I can't wait for the offseason.

My top five to be moved are Luongo,Nash,JVR,Thomas and Marleau. J.Staal is the darkhorse to be moved.
