I'm friends with a former teammate of his who plays for the University of Denver and keeps in touch with him. He's more than positive he's going to the WHL.

Yeah I guess hot college chicks and playing in the nicest hockey arena in the world isn't for everyone.
Aaah, the Tyler Seguin route.(obv OHL in his case instead of the dub)
Obviously. It really is my belief that players of this caliber should go nowhere but the CHL. I wish Trouba would go to the CHL, but he seems deadset on the NCAA.

Perfect location for him if he chooses the CHL.
Windsor
London
Sarnia
Saint John
Halifax (Jones to Mackinnon can you picture it?)
Medicine Hat
Edmonton
Niagra

would all be good ones too. But I agree.
He wouldn't be eligible to go to any of those except Medicine Hat and Edmonton.

He doesn't have his pick of which league to play in. He's from Texas which is in WHL territory. As an aside, not sure why Medicine Hat is a good destination for anyone...(unless you were thinking of if its good for a lad like Etem it must be good for them all!)

Because they made Jay Bouwmeester look like a great player during his duration?

I am glad not all players of Seth Jones' caliber listens to you. I'm not going to turn this into a NCAA/CHL pissing match but I'll just say he'd do just fine in the NCAA. It really doesn't matter where he goes, he'll be good. Just like any other highly touted prospect.
Lol. If he goes to the WHL he's got a quicker ticket to the NHL where he's got every puck bunny in the country...s available. Just sayin.
Meh. He can be a one and done at a university too, get stronger, and also play stronger/older/tougher competition.
Also UND dedicates houses to puck bunnies and shove about 30 of em in the same living quarters...they call em sororities. Sure there might be plenty of hot chicks out there...maybe 2 or 3 in a squad, but 30, no. It's like goose hunting, nobody gets excited when 3 or 4 come in, but a gaggle of 30 gets anybodys heart a racing.
Seth, you don't need to be here for a long time...just a good time.
Seth Jones,Keegan Iverson,Alex Schoernborn,Chase Deleo,Dominic Turgeon and Paul Bittner. That is a very good young group of American prospects they are going to have in Portland.

Not Seth Jones, but is Schoenborn really that good? My brother played against him in high school and watching his games, he seemed like he lacked any hockey sense with rock hard hands. He was good because he had a good shot and was bigger than anybody else. I'm just curious as to how he has developed since 2-3 years ago. I watched him pretty closely because I had heard he was leaving Minot for bigger and better things after his freshmen or sophomore season. Didn't see anything special at the time.

Imagine what the NHL would look like if hockey was the #1 sport in the U.S.
Hell, even if it was the #2 or 3 sport.
It would be full of 6 1/2 footers who were explosive, coordinated, and could skate like the wind.

Comes down the the economics of the sport.
I think if these measurables were really all that important in hockey we would already see tons of players with these attributes. Not saying being 'superhuman' doesn't help but I don't think it is anywhere near as important in hockey as it is in a sport like (American) Football.
No I think he'll be 6'6" 250 at his prime height/weight
lol I don't think a kidface is a huge indicator of someone growing. But it means they have a chance. Though still growing could mean only half an inch to an inch.
