Pierre Houde and Marc Denis appreciation thread

Because they really make the games THAT much better!

Doing the Sens game after what seems like 2 weeks off, and I really missed their voices, it just feels right.

(Oh and Denis Casavant is very good too, so I think RDS has a good line-up at the moment).

Denis made Pierre much better because he's so focused on the game that he forces Pierre to do the same.

It's fun to hear them indeed.

Hearing Brunet again reminded me how much I hate that guy as an analyst.

"Lunqvist needs to be better!"

The guy has a 1.78 goals against average, wtf do you want him to do more?

And Tremblay...ouch.

That's not saying much. They are still light years away from Dube-McGuire who are really the only other duo we can use to conpare at the moment.

And to think Denis is a rookie. Wait until he gains experience. He'll be a legend a la Gilles Tremblay. 'L'expeeerriiiiience d'un Gaiiiiiiiney' or les Pingouins de Peeeetsburgh'. Ahhhh...the good ol' days.

I love Pierre Houde, and Marc Denis was an exciting surprise.

Paul Houde is pretty cool too, the Houde brothers are generally good guys who represent Quebec very well.

It's very hard not to like Pierr Houde. He's such a classy guy and he has huge respect for the french language from the way he speaks it that makes you appreciate every word of it.

They're the reason I watch games on RDS. Casavant is good too and he's able to do various sports(he usually does baseball, helps when it's playoffs time and even during the Euro/World Cup/Olympics).

I just want them to dump Claudine Douville. She's terrible.

Haven't watched RDS since the Habs were eliminated, so not sure how they're doing it, but Pierre annoyed me during the season. Often seems lost, he also guesses a lot and then backtracks. But I don't think he's that bad. Even your friends can become annoying when you spend too much time with them. So, I guess listening to him 3-4times a week for 7months gets annoying.

I can definitely say the commentators on CBC are definitely not better.
TSN is in a league of their own obviously.

Did they get the arena mic'ed up proper too? Were you able to hear the crowd well (AKA like if it was a Habs game)?

The only thing I don't like about Pierre Houde is when he takes 25 words to describe something that could have been said in 5 words. Then, when is sentence is over, the puck is already in the other zone

He wants to show off his refined french and gets mad when Marc Denis does it too.

He takes his job very seriously, to the point of being competitive with the color guy.

I was skeptical at first about Denis, but he is so great. His analysis is always spot on. Miles ahead of Brunet and Pedneault. I always loved Pierre Houde. The only complaint I could pronounce is how he tend to go off topic during gameplay. Altough I noticed it was less frequent recently.

How could you not love "et le but". Marked my generation for sure.

Big props to both.
