A year ago swept by Detroit. Wing and Winnipeg fans made up a fair portion of the arena, laughing at us and claming it was our final game in Arizona. Coyotes players stood near the bench after the handshake, not sure what to do. Finally Doan led them to center ice as they raised their sticks to the crowd in an awkward, half-hearted, not sure what this means kind of way. I couldn't imagine feeling worse walking out of J.C that night.
Tonight is the night a lot of us have been waiting, hoping and praying for: we win our first division title, win our first series, COG voting (again) tomorrow with a new owner in sight. Not to go all Todd Walsh - but this is a special sports story of determination, belief. karma and vindication!!
Oh and I don't know about you all but I have nothing but respect for your team and organization. Hope I can find something to hate in time for game one!
Back at ya. It was great to see Nashville finally win out over Detroit--it was a long time coming, and the Preds definitely earned it. I'm not looking forward to watching our offense square off against Pekka Rinne, that's for damn sure.
I'll make you a deal--you tell your team not to force-feed our guys any plexiglass omelets, and I'll tell my team not to murder a bus full of children. Whaddya say?
Totally blown away. I still can't believe how the pizza thing worked Mike Smith single-handedly dominated an entire team for 60 minutes of playoff hockey. That was the goalie performance of the postseason.
