That's the thing - I realize he's damn good at what he does. He wouldn't make commercials if he WASN'T good.

Big test for Toronto starting tomorrow with the Rays coming to town.

5-4 isnt a bad start, but it's not the greatest one either. Luckily everyone in the East is also right around that .500 mark.

With KC, Baltimore and Seattle being next in line following the Tampa series, the Jays have a great chance to gain a little bit of a lead on the other AL East teams, hopefully starting with a series win over Tampa Bay.

David Wright bloops one up the middle, Pastornicky runs into Uggla, then boots the ball away from Freeman and into the dugout.

Run scores, no outs, lead reduced to 2, and David Wright ties Strawberry for the All-Time Lead in Mets' RBI's.

Nice job by Martinez to get out of it and then for Freddie to build the lead back.

So far, Granderson's gone 3-for-3 with three home runs for the Yankees tonight.

Phil Humber (who?)with the perfect game for the ChiSox today.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox are on the verge of gagging up another lead. They were up 9-0 at one point over the Yanks. It's 9-8 in the 8th.

EDIT: ...and the Yanks just took the lead, 10-9 off a 2-run double by Swisher.

If the Braves offense stays anywhere near this good we're in for a great season. I never thought at any point this year we'd have the most runs in the majors. Hopefully Pastornicky gets a couple hits so he can get some confidence.

Wow Braves send Jurrjens to AAA Gwinnett. How the mighty have fallen. It's probably for the best but it's very surprising nonetheless.

It was the right call. He needed to get his head in order and Delgado should be in the bigs right now.

It's a good problem to have.

That's for sure, especially with Huddy coming back Sunday or Monday. Not a fan of calling up Gearrin in his place although it's not a big deal. I would have preferred Flande but then again he's starting in AAA, they probably don't want to put him back in the pen right now.

Edit: Just noticed Flande isn't on the 40 man, that would explain it.

And Chipper homers to deep right on his 40th birthday to cut the Dodger lead in half.

Happy Birthday Chip!

You don't see guys get out like Kemp just did too often. He made a move to go to 2nd after a botched DP attempt that allowed the tying run to score (courtesy of Uggla) and got tagged out by Freeman.

He wasn't ruled out initially, but after the Braves went ape****, the umps got together and made the right call.

As much as I love this forum for hockey, I hate it for baseball.

Let's go Mets. Screw the Braves. Especially Chipper.

Michael Pineda's out for the year with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Absolutely brutal news for him and the Yankees.

I can't help but laugh even though it's not funny. I thought the trade was a big mistake for them at the time as Pineda was quite a bit lucky last year and regressed hard at the end of the season while Montero, despite lacking a clear position, is an excellent bat. This is pretty much a nightmare for them now. You can't help but wonder if the Mariners saw red flags and moved him because of it and / or if the Yankees medical staff missed something.

That's where I'm at right now.

I actually liked the trade for the Yankees at the time. Pineda was exactly the kind of young pitcher they needed in their rotation. With Martin playing well and in his prime, it seemed like a solid move to trade Montero in that kind of deal.

Understandable. I just wasn't as high on Pineda at most and am really high on Montero's bat. They definitely needed the pitcher though.

Braves comeback in the 9th on 5 straight singles, love it. McCann drilled Guerra in the jaw with a liner and he stayed in the game, I couldn't believe it.
