Goaltender situation should be interesting next season too...

Is Hrivik a legit prospect? What's his upside?

He plays hungry for the puck. Good skater, good shot, good size. He looks like a scorer when he is on the ice. Not sure how legit of a prospect he is, but he deserves a contract. Undrafted...but so was Dan Girardi.

And here's a good column from the Hartford Courant's Jeff Jacobs on Hrivik.

Any word on next round's schedule or matchup? I definitely want to try and make it to a game in the next series.

Awards:
If Hrivik will take an AHL deal, which I suspect he will, then that's the way to go with him. Kinda depends on how he performs the rest of the postseason though--if you he keeps scoring, there may be other teams willing to give him an ELC.

Nothing yet. The Whale series is the only one in the eastern conference that has ended.

Here's the playoff bracket.

It's nice to see Ryan Bourque with 3 points thus far. Maybe he'll breakout in the playoffs.

I would imagine the physical play has picked up so far in the playoffs, how has Erixon looked with the increase in physicality?

Whale swept the Sound Tigers 3-0 in the first round, so we'll be advancing.

If Rangers lose Thursday night, Chris Kreider cannot be assigned to #CTWhale. He's on NHL deal and wasn't on Whale's clear day roster. #ahl

JT Miller

Quote:
You can see hes a little different element than some of the younger kids that weve brought in, where hes got a little bit more size, hes a little bit more punishing as far as physical play, said Gernander.

Im sure well see some of his offense as we go along as well.

Miller knows his game, and he plans to keep things simple and stick with what has made him successful in his career. That means putting points on the board, while not sacrificing defensive integrity at the other end of the ice.

I just want to make sure to stay in the lineup and be an offensive factor, and be responsible defensively too, said Miller.

Im just going to try and do my best and fit it in wherever they need me and do the best that I can at that spot.

Right? As a Rangers/Whale fan, I was thinking it would help make me feel better if/when the Rangers bow out of the playoffs.

Thomas seemed to miss most of game three. Not sure if there was an injury or what. He wasn't on the ice most of the second and I definitely didn't see him in the third or OT.

One has to wonder if he is a little banged up and just tired from a long season + TC + Exhibition Games + Traverse City.

Let him go home and rest and start training.

Whale will play Norfolk in round two beginning Wednesday. The Admirals, you might remember, won 28 games in a row to end the season. The Whale will have their hands full.

Any news on Dylan Mcillrath joining the team? His junior career is now over as well.

I would expect that he would be joining the team. Whether he's inserted into the lineup is another question.
