Following Skinner susp.Shanny said any intentional or reckless use of skate blade in this manner is dangerous and unacceptable.Similar acts.

If the NHL isn't a complete joke then it will follow precedent. As a law student (and Ranger fan of course), I can't think of anything more absurd than saying an act is dangerous and unacceptable then a month later not suspending someone for a similar act.

If something is dangerous than it is dangerous. Doesn't matter if it happens during post-season, pre-season, or regular season.

Or just the action. Carkner going after Boyle has only one intent.

"Intentional." "Reckless." Two words that lend themselves to some really interesting interpretation.

Neither Michalek nor Skinner incidents look bad. But, precedent set. Can't use skate blade for this. Hard to take a guy out of gm 7 though.

Also from Garrioch: NHL looking at Michalek Incident. Source said Girardi was complaining his pant leg was cut. No decision on hearing ... yet.

Dirty Senators

Is Denis Potvin really their color guy? I thought he was in FLA?

I dont care what game it is. What he did is against the rules. The rule shouldnt change because its game 7. He shouldnt have kicked girardi plain and simple. NHL is a joke if he isnt suspended. Not because im a ranger fan, because im a fan of the game. People should laugh at the NHL if it cant decide how it interprets its rules by now after uts long existence.

Well that settles it...today the NHL has announced that Milan Michalek has been fined one set of pants.

He's in Ottawa now and is one hell of a homer for the Sens. It's painful to listen to him.

He was a huge homer when he was doing color for the Panthers as well, and he was an absolute dick when they played the Rangers

I can only imagine how terrible he has been in this series

Hey, now we have reason for the "Potvin sucks" chant to be especially loud.

The precedent has been set with Skinner. Kick a guy, you get suspended. There's no reason to let it go just because it's game 7. The real question is whether or not they have a video of the incident or not. NBC never showed anything clear enough.

Bobby Ryan was also suspended 2 games last year in the playoffs for stomping on a guy's foot.

A little more extreme perhaps than what happened with Michalek, but it does show the NHL will suspend players in the playoffs for stuff like this

I am not saying he did or didn't kick .. but that angle is hard to tell if it was a kick or just a squirm to get out from under the pile up

The opposite angle would be more revealing IMO

Has anyone seen the CBC feed that the NHL is supposedly using?

This story is starting to pick up steam, so look for it to blow up soon.

You won't find the footage online. It's raw CBC footage that the team requested. It's currently being investigated.
