Isn't Gagne supposed to be ready for the 2nd round? What do the Kings do if he's ready? He has been a clutch playoff performer in the past, but since he's been out so long I wonder if he's a liability out there? Is there a roster limit or in theory could the Kings call up the entire Monarchs roster (when they are done) and have 30 healthy scratches each night? If there is no roster limit, then I'd say see how Gagne performs in practice and otherwise make him a healthy scratch.

Do you not remember the series against the Sharks? Clifford was in beast mode

No. He's done for the season. Not even skating.

They wouldn't drop him in to the lineup regardless. Too much off time.

Oh ok. Last update I had heard was an ETA of the 2nd round. Not that I am happy he's gone for the season, but it does solve the headache of what to do with him.

No upper limit. The Monarchs are playing the Norfolk Admirals in the first round, who finished the season on a 28 game winning streak so I imagine very soon the Kings will have a "black aces" squad skating around. Westgarth, Drewiske, Parse, Zatkoff, Jones, Azevedo, Kozun, Vey, Cliche, Hickey, Muzzin, Loktionov, Campbell and Clune will likely all be up with the Kings and running separate practices after the Kings do each day, with like 1-3 of them ever even having an even slight chance of dressing, but they will be up for experience and just in case.

Not so fast. The Monarchs spanked the Admirals in game 2 beating them 5-2 and ending the streak. Now the next 3 games are in Manchester.

Just win. I want to see the Kings go all the way to the cup finals now. Great story as the 8th seed and the remainder of the teams in the West bore the piss out of me.

If there is ANY negative to Phoenix beating Chicago (and I'm nitpicking here), it's now highly likely that NBC (national network) will choose The LA/STL series to televise on weekends, which means an early start time for games slated for a Saturday or Sunday start. NBC will view Nashville vs. Phoenix as the poorer ratings draw.

If it winds up that Ottawa vs. Florida is a 2nd round match-up, that virtually guarantees that NBC will focus on LA/STL and PHL/WAS or BOS.

This weekend, Sunday is unavailable in St. Louis due to building availability. Saturday however is available, and if NBC goes with a doubleheader, the LA-St. Louis game will likely be their Western Conference choice.

Given the Lakers and Clippers are in the playoffs as well, I'm guessing afternoon games at Staples will be a good possibility as well.

So when are they going to announce the schedule? Not until all series are done in both conferences (which would mean Thursday)?

Correct.. not until Round 1 is done because it's entirely dependent on what national TV outlets want to televise since this is the first year that all of round 2 is exclusive to NBC/CBC/TSN.

They will give the Kings and Blues at least a heads-up on the start day a bit ahead of time. Start times won't be sorted until the Round 1 games are all completed.

At first I though they would start Friday. However with the St. Louis building being booked Sunday I think they may start Sat/Mon. Unless of course they want to start the series with a two day break between games 1/2. I'm actually hoping it starts Sat, because I have to be in LA till 6 on Friday.

For his own good, I'm hoping he never comes back. This is his SEVENTH concussion.

I'm surprised the NHL doesn't have a Steve Young type of rule where you can only get a certain number of concussions before you have to retire. I thought that was what did Brett Lindros in, I guess it must have been his own decision.

That's good to know that in the event of injuries, the Kings can add however many players they wanted. I had feared that say Nolan got hurt and they brought up Azevedo, when Nolan was healthy they'd have to dump Azevedo. I don't like to see a winning chemistry monkeyed with regardless of who's available.

However, for the sake of argument, I'd love to see the Monarchs win the Calder Cup too. But not at the expense of a Kings Cup run.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Dean said something along the lines of "Doubt it" when asked if Gagne would be back at all this season.

Richardson was equally as good last season and is coming off a wonderful game 5.

No way they mess with the 4th line right now. Or the 3rd line for that matter. The only place Clifford could possibly slot in is replacing Penner on the"2nd line"

One of the worst officiating moments for any team I support in any sport.

Kings PK was grotesque, but still, how they ended up with a 5 min PP is still unbelievable to me, 14 years later.

Concussions are what did him in. Him Lafontaine, Premieu and countless others. Their decsion were pretty much made for them.

That is exactly what will be happening according to the tentative schedule my dad sent me.

Game 1: Saturday night @ STL
Game 2: Monday @ STL
Game 3: Wednesday @ LA
Game 4: Saturday afternoon @ LA
