Mock Draft: Top 10

Hello Everyone, this is my mock draft.

With the 1st overall pick in the 2012 Nhl entry draft. The edmonton Oilers are proud to selected.

From the sarnia Sting Nail Yakupov

An obvious choice considering he has been ranked number 1 for the whole season. The Oilers may not need a winger as much, but they simply can't pass up on such talent.

Pros: Explosive,Physical, great hands, great shot, and posses the attitude to win.

Cons: He is small at 5'11, but he player bigger then he is.

Comparable: OV, Bure Hybrid.

With the second Overall pick the columbus blue jackets select...

Ryan Murray

Columbus needs a true number one defensemen. Ryan Murray fits the bill, with his exceptional defensive play. Being physically mature enough, he will play next season.

Pros: Great defensive player, reads the play very nice, great 1st pass.

Cons: He may not have as much offensive upside, as some may wan't.

Comparable: Ryan Suter

With the 3rd overall pick the Canadians Select...

Mikhail Grigerenko

The Canadians are in need of a big skilled centermen. grigerenko posses the skill to be a #1 centermen, but some question his attitude on the ice.

Pros: Great Hands, uses his size very well.

Cons: Sometimes plays a lazy style of game.

Comparable: Jeff Carter

The New York Islanders Select...

Filip Forsberg

A big skilled player, that is what forsberg is. He will fit in nicely with the young islanders, and be a force with his size and skill.

pros: Skilled, Big, great attitude.

Cons: Didn't have the season, a lot of scouts were looking for.

Comparable: Mike richards

The toronto Maple Leafs select...

Alex Galchenyuk

Toronto get's a skilled player with #1 Centermen, potential. He is a risk, with missing the whole season, but he had a tremendous rookie year along his teammate yakupov.

Pros:Skilled, possesses great playmaking ability.

Cons: Missed the whole season with a knee injury.

Comparable: Anze Kopitar

The Anaheim Ducka select...

Mathew Dumba

The physical Dumba will be a great addition to the ducks. He posses game breaking ability, which is hard to find in a defensemen.

Pros: hard hitter, Great one timer, Gamebreaker.

Cons: Some say his game may not translate to the nhl.

Comparable: Dion Phanuef

The Minnesota wild Select......

Morgan Rielly

For sure the best offensive defense men in the draft. The wild are in great need of a point producing defensemen. the risk is there, but he has potential to be a star.

Pros: Great offensively, PP quarterback, Great One timer.

Cons: Missed most of season with a injury, and he is not the greatest defensively.

Comparable: Duncan Keith

The Hurricanes Select...

Jacob Trouba

Trouba is a big stay at home defense man. With the Hurricans having a lot of skill upfront, they need a player to cover up their mistakes. Trouba will do exactly that.

Pros: Big, Physical, Good 1st pass

Cons: Isn't offensively gifted.

Comparable: Eric Brewer

The Jets Select....

Griffin Reinhart

Griffin is a good all around defensemen. Some say he will be the steal of the draft. The Jets keep building there D with reinhart.

Pros: Great Hockey sense, Size, Good 1st pass.

Cons: isn't very physical.

Comparable: Mike Girodano

The lightning select....

Cody Ceci

Cody ceci is a great defender. With Tampa's D being questionable this year, Cody will fit in well in the future.

Pros: Offensive minded, Great skater, Great shot.

Cons: Defense play isn't to great, but improving.

Comparable: Mike Green

Hope my list isn't to bad.

Can't really disagree with anything here (except the Grigorenko/Timmins issue that I won't even begin to get into because it's all hearsay). Ultimately, I really hope the Wild end up with Rielly (since I don't see any scenario where Galchenyuk ends up falling to them).

Disagree with Trouba instead of Faksa or Teravainen for the Canes.

I'd rather see the Wild select Trouba.

Send a message via Yahoo to Isles_Guy*
if Galchenyuk is there for the Islanders I have heard that Garth Snow really loves the kid, so i doubt he passes on him

No way, no how Grigs goes to Montreal. Galchenyuk or Forsberg for Montreal at 3. I'll be Kessel's remaining nut on that

Crazy how all these mocks have Grigs going third and to Montreal of all places, there's zero chance he becomes a hab.

I was under the impression that grigerenko would do well with the habs. I guess not.

I love reading all you Habs fans who read a couple scouting reports and all of a sudden you know what Timmins will do.

I'm gonna laugh when they announce Roy as your new GM.

Much as I'd like to say otherwise, just about nothing in this draft is guaranteed. Yakupov goes first and that's about it. When it just comes to the top 5, it could go in various orders.

Would be happy to see the draft go like this and have the Leafs walk out with Galchenyuk, but no guarantees.

I love it when Leafs fans say this.
