There was nothing worse than trying to listen to Fred stammer home his point about the Bruins not creating traffic in front of Holtby. Thanks Fred, you're so knowledgeable about sports.

There may have been one thing worse yesterday. Not sure if it was Toucher or Rich, cuz I don't know one from the 'nother, but he said, and I quote:

"To all the people who are calling up and they're like, hey idiot, da da da da da....about the whole Alzner thing?"

Sorry, but my teachers never taught me what da da da da da means.

Not to mention "They're like" instead of "they said."

Is it too much to ask my radio hosts to use their big-boy words?

That is all....I feel better now!

I can't say that I heard that, but I'd guess it was Toucher since it sounds like something he'd say. To be perfectly honest, I can't really listen to either TSH or WEEI in the morning. T&R know nothing about sports and Fred does nothing but talk about the out of town teams he likes over and over, and D&C are heavy handed bigots who politicize everything. I've been listening to more and more music and I don't miss a thing. I still tune into Felger and Mazz in the afternoon, but that's about the only show on sports talk radio that I can even remotely tolerate now.

Holley and Merloni need to abandon ship and take over for mid days at TSH and replace Zo and the fat man.

Just had Mike Royce from Washington Post on re: his column where he whined about how the Bs are the dirtiest team in the NHL, yet the Caps are the ones being penalized.

He actually handled himself pretty well, much better than that doosher from Van that got taken apart by Felger and Thornton earlier in the season. Nonetheless, I still think it's funny that this image persists. The Bs are playing cleaner than just about every other team in the playoffs. Tough doesn't mean you're dirty.

Mike Wise. Good article, although he doesn't distinguish between the after the play stuff/fighting & the Weber, Torres, Asham, etc. stuff. Felger noted this, and to his credit, Mr. Wise ceded the point.

Huge holes of logic throughout his article. He brings up historical accounts of the Bs and what they did in the regular season. That has nothing to do with this series. And if we're going to blast the Herald for calling the Caps dirty (which many posters did), there's no way you can't do the same with this article. This series is tame. Wise sounds ******** that Backstrom got caught for what he did. Everything else sounds like blind rationalization that you would find on the Caps HFboard.

The other day (a little late in posting, I know, but I wasn't at the computer and promptly forgot about it), a caller called in to one of the weekend shows and said that he thought "Brendan Shannahan got it right with that Raphael Torres and Mario Hossa thing..."

Hey, in this town most of our radio hosts can't even pronounce the Bruin's players names.

Felger is giving as much weight to the 2008 and 2009 losses as he is last years G7 wins. Really Felger?

Only TT, Z, Ference, PB,
DK, ML & Thornton left from the losses in 2008 and 2009.

Is he really going to give as much weight to those years as opposed to the 15 that r back from last year.
Really weak on his part.

If he wants to do that, he should also mention the Caps are 0-3 in game 7's since 08

EDIT: sorry, they're 1-3 (they beat the Rangers in '09 in game 7)

Couldn't agree more with Felger regarding KPD and violence in hockey.

He' is definitely playing tomorrow and feeling a little better. He didn't specify what's hurting.

Marchand is a competitor

Thinks they need to be patient with Holtby. He said Chara had a similar move (as Seguins GWG) and it almost worked and maybe Seguin learned something from seeing that.

It's tough to see Thornton out of the lineup, he's always a team guy.

Game 7 at home is huge. Referenced how it helped last year vs Montreal/Tampa.

The Selke nomination is an honor, but he does not believe in individual awards in a sport like hockey. He gives credit to his teammates.

Gresh goes on to compare Bergy and Daniel Bard. Basically Bergy is a winner/team guy, Bard is a chump.

It's a stark contrast between two players who are very current and newsworthy.

It's fair, IMO.

But Bard, and the entire Red Sox organization, would be a chump without comparing him/them to someone as high quality as Bergeron, so it's really a non-issue.

Can you expound?

Felger believes hockey is fine?

Kpd does not?

Minus the headshots, we haven't seen one line brawl in these playoffs.

I heard Felger yesterday afternoon going on because someone had claimed that violence in hockey is getting worse. Can't say for sure cuz I missed the first part, but he may have been talking about Dupes. I thought he might have been talking about Mario! LOL

Anyway, Felger made a good point that the amount of concussions hasn't grown, it's the amount of diagnosed concussions that have grown.

Not so sure I agree w/ that. It could be true. But I think it's more the way guys are hitting, and what they're targeting when they hit. Everyone went Scott Stevens, basically.
