Depends on what my team needed. If I already had a top center and was in need of a great offensive defensemen I would take Karlsson or Doughty. Obviously if goal scoring output was a problem with my top line I would take Stamkos.

Terrible logic. BPA is the player that should be drafted, in that case Karlsson is around 3-6.

If the Portland Winter Hawks are able to sign Seth Jones, can he join them for their playoff run right now? If so, the kid should sign.

I think when all is said and done, the order will be:
1. MacKinnon
2. Jones
3. Barkov
4. Shinkaruk
5. Monahan
Next year's draft class, if it isn't riddled with injuries like this year's, should be the best in a LONG time.

Are you? There's no way any team would take him first overall over Stamkos. Second of all, I think most teams would rather take Doughty and Pietrangelo first. Third of all, 3-6 is a lot closer to reality than 1-3.

You obviously have not seen Pietrangelo play enough. I would absolutely take Pietrangelo and Stamkos over Karlsson without any hesitation. I would place karlsson in a group with Doughty, Eberle, and Myers. So yes anywhere between 3-6

Wow you can see the future! That's so cool.
Also, everyone predicted Larsson to go #1 a year a go... Jones will definitely challenge for #1.

Don't much care about predicting where he'll go in 2013. I am absolutely salivating at the prospect of seeing Jones in a Winterhawks jersey for a season or two.

He'll be in the NHL in the 2013-14 NHL season.

I was being selfishly optimistic, or pessimistic, depending on how you look at it.

Nothing yet.
I've heard it should happen 7-10 days after Under 18's, so it could come any time now.

Not terrible logic if I view them as 1a and 1b. What if Edmonton had the #1 pick next year and Mackinnon and Jones are the 1a and 1b choices? they're gonna take Jones even if every scout has Mackinnon ranked higher why?....because they don't need Mackinnon they need Jones.
p.s. Mackinnon will be just as good as Stamkos IMO.

Seth can potentially crack an NHL roster in his rookie year, playing for a team like Portland can help speed up his development. I think it will be a better option for him to sign in the WHL.

This kid is seriously a monster though. Pretty crazy potential.

I wonder how much the Winterhawks agreed to pay Jones in order for him to join them next season.
