A goalie we don't need at all... A prospect that doesn't make us better right now and a 2nd round pick when the team isn't rebuilding for our 2nd line center, where the next best center under contract is a 4th liner in Lapierre.

This was just a joke proposal to prove some point, right?
A joke? Are you telling me the Hawks couldn't get Kesler for Crawford, Pirri and a 2nd?

Dammit... Dammit all.

I thought some of these proposals were bad, but this is by far the worst.

And I would disagree with you, dmen for forwards tend to have more actual value when a trade goes down than what the average HF'er thinks.

Patrick Kane is a franchise forward. He's a Stanley Cup champion, Olympic silver medalist and he's been a 1st team All-star.. and he's done all that before he's turned 24.

Edler and Kane don't have close to simular value. Edler has simular value to Brent Seabrook, not Patrick Kane.

I've heard rumblings of a few acid dealers around Aldergrove, but I'm too afraid to get lynched to walk around.

Even then, Seabrook has a Cup ring and an Olympic gold medal whereas Edler has...2 President's Cup trophies.

It's already difficult to compare these 2 players, why bring up 4 team related accomplishments?

I didn't know Kane had no teammates? Hockey is a team sport. Talking about cup rings and olympic medals doesn't have much to do with the individual players.

Because they were both part of those teams, and those are the kinds of accomplishments that go on hockey players resumes.

Like it or not, team accomplishments affect a player's value just as much as their individual merits.

Definitely better value over the OP's proposal, but now the nucks are losing its best defensive prospect (if you wanna call him a prospect...he's still rounding into the defenseman he can be and is only 25-26. hasn't even touched his potential imo) AND giving up a 2nd rd pick?!?

for the record: I think a "kane-type" player is exactly wut the nucks need. someone on the wing with dirty play-making skills: whitney, hemsky, kane, hossa, jagr, etc. That is the type of guy the nucks need to play alongside Kes and Booth (who are shooters...not passers)
