Grønvaldt have been impressive in camp so i do not feel certain that Eskesen or Hersby will take his spot.

Now that Lauridsen is out of the picture, i feel like the last D man spot is between Hersby and Grønvaldt.

I feel the same way, I really want Canucks to win, but I also want Jannik at the WC. But if they are gonna lose they might as well get over with it right away.

Also, Bødker, please stop scoring GWG, save those for Stockholm.

Jannik Hansen not joining the roster if the Canuck get kicked out is a legit concert apperently. DIU are fearing that with all the media already asking to it might press Jannik to say no prematurly. Kinda goes to show that Danish hockey reporters still havn't cough up with the priorities of hockey.

Source(In Danish): http://tv2sport.dk/diu-frygter-nej-fra-skuffet-jannik

And Lauridsen being out of the picture is due to Philly calling him up as a reserve. A nice pad on the shoulder for Lauridsen but devastating for his/our hope of seeing him at the WC. I think the team-mates Eskesen and Hersby will compete for it now. But it's the seventh d-men. What ever... Grønvaldt might even have a shot, though IMO his robish PO should count against him.

Ahhh.. I give Hansen a little more credit than DIU. We are talking about an adult and professionel player. Of course he will go if it's possible.

If Canucks are out tonight or one of the next few days. I wouldn't hold it against Hansen if he has "screw you guys I'm going on holiday" mindset the first hours of even days. Coming in as favourites and getting swept have to very hard mentally, especially for a team with high ambitions like the Canucks. But I think he'll come go, give him some time to get the loss out of his system and I'm sure he'll be glad to go, he just seems like a guy who never gets tired of playing hockey.
If he's smart he turns of his cellphone before the game, and if they lose, he doesn't turn it on again until some time tomorrow. Danish journalists calling to ask when he'll land in Kastrup is probably not the first persons he wants to talk to right after the game.

I concur.
Not to forget the fact that this championship will determine the qualification groups, for the next winter olympics.
He is playing some of his best hockey at the moment.
Small hockey community (in Denmark) so the players know each other, and they generally look forward to suit up for the national team.
I think he'll go if the opportunity presents its self.

Pretty descent lineup if he does.....

Nicklas Hardt - Frans Nielsen - Jannik Hansen
Kiril Starkov - Lars Eller - Morten Madsen
Julian Jakobsen - Morten Green - Mads Christensen
Morten Poulsen - Jesper Jensen - Jannik Karvinen
(Frederik Storm - Morten Andreasen - Lasse Lassen)

Stefan Lassen - Philip Larsen
Jesper Jensen - Daniel Nielsen
Mads Boedker - Kasper Jensen
(Philip Hersby - Simon Gronvaldt)

Frederik Andersen
Patrick Galbraith
(Simon Nielsen)

* Two sets of brothers. Three sets if Mikkel Boedker joins the team. In a few years time four sets could be a real possibility, with the emergence of the Lauridsen brothers.

5 with Bjorkstrands... and 6 with the Ellers. There is a younger brother to Lars.

Danish papers report today that Bäckman have not ruled out that Nicklas Jensen can join the danish team to play the world championships.
Would be an interesting addition for sure. We can always use a sniper like that.

His team is down 0-2 in the playoffs.

Simon Groenvaldt and Jannik Karvinen has been replaced by Philip Hersby and Michael Eskesen pr. www.sporten.dk

Denmark has lost it's two matches against Germany. The first 3-1(1-0 Nielsen ass. Eller, Hardt). Frederik Andersen became the Dane of the Game(Has a nice ring to it don't ya think? ) The second match went to a shoot-out after the regular game ended 2-2(1-0 J. Jensen(F), ass. Madsen 2-2 Hardt, ass Nielsen, Eller). Looks like Eller-Nielsen-Hardt's gonna be a killer line.

Add a red hot Niklas Jensen and perhaps Jannik Hansen this team can do some damage.

From what i saw of the two matches against Germany and those against Latvia i am a wee bit concerned about our D unit. It has not been good and we should be pleased with the level of our goalies. I have the D can step it up for the real thing to come.

Gotta give it to Jannik to keep his cool, and respond with calm and determination in a situation where everybody would understand if he wanted a day or two to put the disappointment behind him.

I hope he comes with a burning desire to revenche the PO-revenche that never came this year. A Jannik Hansen on fire would be good for the second line. Morten Madsen and Mads Christensen got them self a nice playmate.

Does anybody have the D-pairings from the Germany-games?

Denmark could have VERY strong team this year. Maybe little thin on defense, but very good goalie and offense. I wound't be suprise to see them in quarterfinals.

Thanks mate.

What I gathered from those two, was that we might be rolling with:

Larsen-J.Jensen
Nielsen-Lassen
Boedker-K. Jensen

And about Jannik. I wasn't saying he's being slow. Actually I was giving him credit for not saying something vague about "seing how he feels" or "letting things play out" but he clearly states the facts: He's fit and he's willing to go. No doubt in that message. No room for misunderstandings and media interpretations.

The 25(+2) man roster for the WC:

Frederik Andersen
Patrick Galbraith
Simon Nielsen

Philip Larsen
Kasper Jensen
Daniel Nielsen
Stefan Lassen
Jesper Jensen
Mads Boedker
Philip Hersby
Michael Eskesen

Jannik Hansen
Frans Nielsen
Lars Eller
Julian Jakobsen
Morten Madsen
Mads Christensen
Nichlas Hardt
Morten Green
Jesper Jensen
Morten Poulsen
Kiril Starkov
Frederik Storm
Kim Lykkeskov
Bjarke Moeller
-------------------
Mikkel Boedker
Niklas Jensen

My guess is that Bjarke Moeller and Hersby/Eksesen/Lykkeskov will be dumped if Niklas Jensen and Mikkel Boedker join the squad. This teams has only 5 guys from the Danish league. That's got to be some kind of record.

Indeed, that's a very, very nice roster and a Top-4 finish in the group should be possible.

This past season Eller seemed to be more confident with the puck in making plays and scoring goals. He was also used at times instead of Plekanec as the habs shutdown centre.

Seeing the Danish roster with so many NHLers is very impressive. Can't wait until there's more! Until you become too good, then I can't root for your country anymore.
