I think that we should have time to see who is available out there outside the Habs. That way, we'll see if there are really some spots for Desharnais for example. Oilers will see quite a few players go over there. Though Hall is gone. Columbus sends Nash. Possibility of Umberger. Do Getzlaf and Perry go? And I am not even looking that hard. Unless tons of people don't go, there may be not as many openings as we thought there were. And that's not counting the teams that are still in a race but won't make it like TBay and Co. And that's not counting the numerous teams that will lose in round 1.
I can't see team canada not inviting two guys that won the gold in Vancouver, but in WC it's always a matter of who accept the invitation. I don't think Desharnais make it unless he go on a rampage and get to 70 pts this season.

I know. Reason why I wrote it that way. Not thinking they won't invite them. But would they want to go?

Well it could be positive for them to restart early from their bad season and produce there. Also they have a shot at the Triple Gold Club. But they are the only ones with the answer.
Another things against DD is the old mentality of team canada he is a little small, the only way is if he would be outscoring the others candidates.
What, why? Markov needs to get as many games in by the end of the season.
No he doesn't.

Exactly. The main words here are "controlled environment", and I'd add under team doctors' care and supervision...
To be honest, I don't think at this point Markov is good enough to play for Russia. Sure his vision and passing are there, but man has he been caught up ice alot. That and you factor in how expensive the cost of insurance for Russia would be, I don't think he goes.
Personally, if I'm the Habs, I wouldn't let him go either.
It's sad that Canada and USA aren't playing in Sweden, would've loved to see PK and Pacioretty play.
I've booked tickets for Sweden-Russia and Russia-Czech, so atleast I'll be able to see Plekanec and Emelin in action. Maybe I'll buy tickets to Denmark-Germany aswell to get a look on Eller.
So the Habs representatives are Subban, Plekanec, Pacioretty, Eller, Emelin and Noke?
Shame Diaz and Weber are out, Switzerland could use them. I'm curious to see how Eller does with a major role on a bad team.
I was going to ask if Weber was playing for the Swiss team, but I guess not. What happened to him, I assume by out, you mean injured?
