He could slide to 5 or 6. That's about as far as he'll go.
Most of the top 10 doesn't need a left tackle. Only way he would go is if another team traded up to that spot. The Vikes are really the only logical landing spot in the top 10.

The Rams need a left tackle and even so, they'll take him because he's one of the elite players in the draft.
Getting excited about the thought that Riley Reif may drop to the Bears. If Khalil doesn't go to the Vikings he could slide way down the draft meaning Reif will drop with him.
A buddy of mine who went to Iowa was hard selling me on the Bears taking Reiff if he falls to the Bears in the 1st. He had some good arguments, and while I'm not crazy about going O-Line again, and while I'm not convinced Reiff will be a good LT (he seems like a RT, same as Carimi) I guess it wouldn't be a bad pick.
I do think Coples will be off the board, so we will be looking for other areas.

They took a tackle in the 3rd round in 2009, 1st round in 2010, and 2nd round in 2011. They aren't taking another tackle with all of the needs they have.

Reif is the opposite of Carimi, a pure pass protection left tackle. Reif would be a huge upgrade over Webb. They could move Webb back over to the right and slide Carimi inside (he played inside some in college). Would make the entire line much better.
Apparently the Rams are looking to shop Stephen Jackson. What are your thoughts on a base trade of Jackson for Forte? Plausible?
Jackson is looking to redo his contract. He's an older, slower, more banged up version of Forte. If they are trading Jackson its because they are going to take Trent Richardson.
Looking at the draft, I think I can say 14 guys that for sure won't be there when the Bears pick.
3 QB's (Luck, RG3, Tannehill), 1 RB (Richardson), 2 CB (Claireborn and Gilmore), 1 LB (Keuchly), 2 WR (Blackmon and Floyd), 1 OL (Khalil), 1 SS (Barron) and 3 DL's (Cox, Ingram, Poe) will all be off the board by 19. I think its likely you'll see a rush linebacker or 2 off the board by 19 as well (Upshaw, Hightower, McClellin)
That leaves a ton of possibilities for the Bears at 19, 3 OL (Glenn, Decastro, Reif), 3 DL (Coples, Mercilus, Jones), 1 WR (Wright), 1 DT (Brockers), 1 CB (Kirkpatrick). Should be able to get a really good player at 19. Also I could see them go back and get another pick or maybe jump up from 19 to around 16 for a 4th round pick and get a guy they covet.

Agreed. Forte and Jackson both want new long term deals, and Jackson is older, slower, and more banged up. Don't see how this makes sense.
And as for St Louis, they would likely need to go above Cleveland to get Richardson.

Minnesota is trying to move back. They are betting they can move back, St. Louis takes Richardson, Cleveland takes Blackmon, LSU takes Keuchley, and they can take Khalil at 6 instead of 3.

Jason Smith, the one from 2010, is absolutely God awful. The 2nd rounder is playing RT. If Kalil is there, they will take him. He's a franchise olineman.

Falcons trade for Asante Samuel and he agreed to a restructered 3 year deal worth 18.5 mil. It's unknown what Atlanta gave up for Samuel.
I know some people wanted the Bears to go after him...too late now.
We don't have cap room for even his restructured deal. Really wasn't an option. I do think we will pick up a CB by the 3rd round, and one that has some serious starting potential. It's a fairly deep CB draft.
Happy to see Coples falling in rankings and to be honest, I like all of the options that should be available to the Bears at their pick. We're getting a good player that will help a need position, that's all that matters.
