He will be much more effective in a potential BOS or NYR matchup, as well. Grossmann and Meszaros go without saying...

For his size alone he is probably a better option than Gus if we play one of those two next round, especially boston

Edit: but only if healthy

Apparantly Schenn's hit on Martin caused a concussion. Just shows that you don't have to be down and out cold like Hossa to be hurt. Hopefully he'll recover just fine and still be a main piece on their blueline next season.

There's no way Kubina doesn't sit for Gus unless he drastically heals up during the break.
In the most important game of the season so far, Kubina played 4 minutes while Gus played 22.

I didn't even recall hearing his name ,, Did he play sheltered minutes in bottom 6?"

I'd imagine it was pretty tough for JVR to have an impact after sitting out 6 weeks and entering that type of series. I think he will have a strong series in the next round. Briere was on with Mikey Miss the other day and commented on how he looks like he is getting stronger and stronger.

I've never seen Kunitz make a one-handed pass to set up a goal while someone was on his back

Well, if you can call a line of JVR-Read-Simmonds the 4th line. JVR wont be seeing THAT much increase in time anyway since he wont be on the PP (no chance in hell they change the PP which is on fire) and doesnt play on the PK. Voracek, Read, and Simmonds can get away with playing "on the 4th line" since they play pp (and pk in Read's case)

Bryz post practice today:

Question: How can the guys stay fresh this week?
Bryzgalov: "Eat more veggies."
Question: Bored with all this practice?
Bryzgalov: "Yeah, bored with you guys."
Question: What are you doing to stay sharp? What are doing right now?
Bryzgalov: "Going in the shower."
Question: We're doing a story on Coach Laviolette. What is he like to play for?
Bryzgalov: "Huh? I'm not sure. I don't have the flash cards for this answer.''
