Oh, yeah, um, Lundqvist gets his Vezina.
That would be an AMAZING series.

Anyone who thinks Lundqvist won't win it this year is insane.
And I hope when he does finally win it this year we won't have a bunch of people here crying about how they think he doesn't deserve it and how much better Quick is because I will just flat out lose it.

He's in some good company for sure, but you got to think that it's Hank's turn, and he definitely has shown he is worth it. You Rangers fans are lucky to have him...he's a good one!

So 14-19 game difference isn't enough to make a large difference between 2 goalies with identical stats? He also played the #3 offense 4 times and the #4 offense 3 times.

Kings played 6 games against the Atlantic, and only had 2 wins (both in OT).

Lost in OT to Isles
Win in OT against us
Lost in SO, Lost in regulation to the Devils
Won in OT against Philly
Lost in SO to Pens

Rangers played 24 against the Atlantic. 18 games isn't a huge difference?

I guess it's just a matter of perception. IMHO you don't base a trophy on 18 games.

24/82 = 30% of NYR games played against Atlantic.

And

6/82 = 7% of Kings games played against Atlantic.

How the **** is that not a big difference? Do you want to pay 7% tax or 30% tax?

Can't believe this is an actual argument. Which one of these teams do you expect to score a ton of goals:

Sharks
Coyotes
Ducks
Stars

Is there an offensive powerhouse on that list? LA gets to play each team on that list 6 times.

I'm just saying you don't base a trophy on 18 games. And it may not even be 18 games, considering Hank did not start all the Atlantic division games, and Quick may not have either.

His stats could have been substantially hurt during a bad 18 game stretch. Hank's took a .2 GAA and .10 Save % hit during a similarly long stretch. Maybe we should throw away those games.

And that's the whole point. You don't throw out the 18 games...you include them in with all 82.

Right, and when you see that they only have minuscule differences in stats, you give it to the guy playing in a more offensive conference overall.

One factor that I think gets overlooked is the razor thin margin of error Quick operated under in order to achieve the type of season he had. He was under considerably more pressure to win in the 1-0/2-1 types of games than Lundqvist was.

But would goalies just fall asleep if their team is up by 4?

Funy how that argument is being used against lundqvist now but was never used for him all those years he was a runer up.

Part of it is just watching the games and not getting tied up in stats, who played how many games against who, etc. Hank was great, but Quick was better IMHO. The guy is like velcro.

Obviously it doesn't matter for the trophy, but the Vancouver series was a perfect example. As well as Elliott, Smith, Hank, Anderson, Rinne, and Fleury (I kid, I kid) played, Quick was over the top this series.

Look I'm as a big of Lundqvist critic as anyone but it's completely unfair that he gets penalized for LA's weak offense. Not like he didn't have to win his share of close games. The Rangers almost never won by blowout. They won by more 3 THREE times all year. If Quick is to win it, I hope it's not that BS reason that LA's offense is poor. I hope it's because Quick was better down the stretch. Even then, he wasn't exactly anything to write home about the last 2 games when he lost his team the division.

Great. We get it. You, and Messier is God would probably ship Hank out of town at the first chance you had. We know.

You don't base a trophy on 18 games, but 22% of the schedule is a good tiebreaker.

He's talking to me. Some Fanboys don't like to hear anything negative about their heroes whatsoever, even if all someone is saying is that in their opinion their hero had only the second best season of all goalies in the NHL.
