We don't want Martin and his contract for Malone, we can get better for him. Kennedy creeps me out with how weird he looks and we have enough bottom 6 fowards. Niskannen is the only one I want from that deal. If Despres is off the table what about Morrow?

While I am not completlely against getting Lou I really hope we don't. Aside from the contract I do not think he will be the answer we are looking for. Also one of the biggest issue I have with it is that we are basically saying we have no faith in Tic or Janus as our future.
That last part is not true at all. Goalies come into their own around 25. They are both 22. Luongo for 4-5 years would put both of them as backups around when they are 25 and the starter at age 26. Prime position actually.

It's a weird contract. The full term runs through the 2021-2022 season. After the final game of 2013-2014, Luongo can submit a list of 5 teams he'd like to be traded to, and you have until July 15th to trade him. The second window opens up after 2017-2018, and the team can request a list of 5 acceptable teams, and trade him before September 1st. If Lu gives a list in 2014 and doesn't get traded, the second chance doesn't happen.
Stuff like this makes me wish that the new CBA caps contract terms.

It's a 10 year contract, everyone tries to say its only 6 cause then the money drops but cap hit remains. People also think he'll retire before it ends, either way it makes no sense giving up decent assets in hopes he retires.
I really would enjoy Luongo being in Tampa...IF he is retrieved for little value.
He is not worth anything more than our second with a cap dump, imo. We all know SFY is stingy, so I don't even expect him to give THAT much.
I think there is a good chance Luongo ends up here, but if VAN thinks they will be getting a deal centered around Malone or Purcell (as has been said in the trade boards) I'm fairly confident SFY will walk away.

If it's for schneider it has to be purcell++ but if its for luongo its probably straight up or luongo +

Why would we want Kesler? I know he brought our country a silver medal (so did Malone), but we kind of have a few centers now in Vinny, and Some other guy.

It's pretty funny. Everyone wants to dump Malone except Yzerman.
Malone has a NMC and I very much doubt he'd waive to go to Vancouver. Only places I could really ever see Bugsy waiving for are Pittsburgh and Minnesota for obvious reasons. I don't want to trade Malone because as of now, he's our only legit power forward and he just had his best season with us since 08-09.
Any Vancouver fan asking for Hedman, Connolly, the 10th overall..etc. are just ****ing high. They're going to be in for some RUDE disappointment in the coming weeks. You can't value Luongo as a top 10 goalie if you don't value him that way yourselves. Dig your own grave and now you live in it, the way things work in a salary cap world.
