For all the posters in this thread that posted something like this, get real. We know how these boards go. The next time Carter goes into a scoring funk or we need a puckmoving D-man for some reason, or JJ starts getting on a roll, there will be a thread about how we need a guy like JJ and we were foolish to get rid of him. We see it each year with fans crying over guys that they barely gave two ***** about when they left, like Moulson, Purcell and even the dynamo known as Brian Boyle. Imagine the posting that will go on for a guy fans actually, for the most part, liked, such as Johnson?

Frankly I'm surprised someone hasn't started up threads for guys like Jerred Smithson and David Steckel.

Here's hoping a long playoff run will come, as that might help put an end to this "woe is me for being a Kings fan" attitude that rears up each time the team has a bad game.

I cannot blame him for being a bit bitter at all. He had just signed a 7-year extension.

But he's lying when he said that he "couldn't care less" if the Kings win or not.

Jack be simple,

I couldn't care less about Jack Johnson. Glad he is gone.

The trade was good for both teams. Jack needed to be "the man" and the Kings needed a sniper.

I think Jack will thrive in CBJ and that's a good thing that reflects well on the Kings.

In my view when players (Purcell, Moulson, Boyle, Steckel) move on and succeed, it indicates the strength of our system and our depth.

I think he is in a scoring funk right now.

I can honestly say that since the playoffs started, this is the first time that i have even thought about JJ one bit. I was furious at the trade at first, but it ended up being the best move at the time. Good luck in C-bus JJ, but (not trying to be a jerk) you arent really missed here in LA

Meh, I think he really wanted to stay in LA (see contract length), and I think he enjoyed playing with the guys on the Kings. Being traded must be one of the most difficult parts about being in pro sports, but it comes with the territory. If he's bitter, it's probably only against DL.

I wonder if he will still feel like he's in the "right place" once he's traded again next season.

I'm a Barcelona fanatic. But also a huge Zidane fan and even though he's a former Galactico, he transcended the game in ways few players have. Even though some of his best football was played at Madrid, I was a fan of his long before and will always be an admirer of his football.

He is, but I assume the honeymoon/playoff success is shielding him from attacks mostly. I was more referring to next year.

Frankly if JMFJ doesn't want to see his former teammates and likely his friends succeed in the playoffs, then he really is pissed at being dealt. Sad that he has to be that bitter about it. Be mad at DL, sure, whatever, but I'd imagine if things were reversed his former Kings teammates would be pulling for him, not publicly saying they don't care if JJ wins or looses.

Johnson is a competitor. It's not like there's anything he can do about the trade. No use in crying about for him. All he can do is be a positive member of the Jackets going into next year. It ended up a bad situation this year in Columbus, but look around the league. Plenty of teams had far better season's than anyone predicted. Nothing that says Columbus can't have the same type of turnaround. So if Johnson emotionally detaches himself from the Kings, that makes sense. He's the opponent.

I think you're ignoring Voynov. The trade improved the Kings even when Carter was out injured. Carter plus room for Voynov >>>>>>>>> JJ.

I'm not a JJ hater, by the way.

Bingo. Why should he be crying because he's not a King? He's going to be their #1 guy in Columbus and he wants to make sure he's ready. And as most of us have said, he's a better fit there.

THIS TRADE WORKED FOR EVERYBODY!

I bummed he even reported to CLB. Clearly he should have gone radio silent, refused all media requests (what was he thinking?), and forced Rick Nash and Howson to fly to his house to beg him to come while lamenting the fact he just signed a 7 year contract in a city he loves. He should have thrown in a few jabs about a lying GM. That is how he should have handled the situation.

I've heard much classier players give the old, "I wish my ex-teammates success in hockey as long as it's not against me," rather than Jack's version of "To be honest with you, I could care less if they win or lose." But I guess Jack's just brutally honest. And prefers to drink this in soup grape flavor.
