What do we need?

1. A 3rd WR. This will be fought over by Hixon, Barden, Jernigan

2. A Backup RB. Dare'll Scott will fight with Ware for this

3. A Tight End. Addressed through free agency. Eli makes mediocres into starters.

4. Some depth at linemen. Right now we have Deihl, Snee, Baas, Booth, Beatty (I), Brewer, Andrews, a guy we just signed. We might add one more in the draft.

5. CB/Safety- added via free agency

We don't really have any glaring holes.
Disagree on a few points, agree on others.

I think this team still needs a stud linebacker. I don't know if it'll be addressed at this year's draft, but to me it is a glaring issue. It would also give us more depth at DE since Kiwi can go back to his natural position.

I also think this team needs a Runningback. Maybe Scott steps up, but if Polk is there in the second round, I snatch him up. The kid's gonna be good. Also having a good tight end makes the offense that much more dynamic.

I keep trying to create a perfect mock draft, but I just can't.

I received an e-mail from the Giants, they're giving away free tickets to the NFL draft.

Yeah, because nobody cares about rounds 2,3,4, and 5.

Eli does make mediocre TEs into starters, but imagine what he'd do with a great one who isn't a complete ****?

Well I don't consider tight ends to really be anything particularly special. Occasionally you get a special physical specimen like Jimmy Graham.

Eli did not do well with an "elite" type receiving tight end like Jeremy Shockey.

Yea, I am 100% on the Fleener bandwagon.

But if they decide to go line/rb/lb I won't be upset.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Eli's lack of chemistry and his early QB woes all stem from Shockey's extremely ugly on field demands. Ever since he went down with that injury in 07, it's almost like Eli's a completely different player.

LB and RB I'd be shocked if we went there.

Looking more and more like OT or DE or CB. JMO.

Plus, Boss was making receptions and gaining big yards when he did. Didn't help Shockey that Boss was bigger and faster.

I don't know if this is true but supposedly Tiki also was a diva in the locker room. Him getting so many carries was because he demanded them.

Either way, when Coughlin inherited the team and Eli was given the nod, that locker room was full of individuals.

I think my mock would be

1. Coby Fleener. TE
2. Lamar Miller. RB
3. Mitchell Schwartz. OT
4. Ryan Broyles. WR/KR
4. Brandon Taylor. S
6. Kellen Moore. QB
7. VONTAZE BURFICT. LB. YES, I SAID IT.

Why is Kellen Moore falling to the 6th round?

He's a slender 6'0 QB, who doesn't have the strongest of arms and his mechanics need a lot of work.

He had a hell of a College career, but he needs a lot of work at the next level. Has great intangibles and would make a good developmental QB. Reese loves those too (Woodson, Bomar).

If I were Goodell, I'd have New Orleans forfeit their 1st round picks for 10 years, have the GM fired, fine the owner $10 million, and prevent this team from playing in a nationally televised game for 10 years as well (No prime time, or games played on Thanksgiving).

Nothing surprise me about the Saints. I knew that scum*** organization was fishy all along. Goodell MUST take away their 1st and 2nd round picks for 3 consecutive years.

Too lenient.

Make that team a reincarnation of the '70s Aints.

After everything I have read, I am sold on Stephen Hill. 6'4 215 (some say 220). 4.4 40' time (4.36 to be exact). Only 800 yards in college, but played on the retardedly run happy Georgia Tech team.

Get me Hill.

Will the Giants go for Fleener? I am not sure how I feel about taking a TE in the 1st round. I think I would prefer to take an OL or DL and grab a TE later in the draft.

Also, the Bruce Irvin rumors are ****ing AWESOME:

Quote:
You know the draft is in full swing when you start hearing rumors from reputable sources that are just to crazy to be made up.

Tonight on Path to the Draft Michael Lombardi, one of the most respected NFL insiders in the buisiness, reported that Bruce Irvin has been flown in, via helicopter, to a team facility for a secret private workout. During the workout Irvin was promised by the team that he was going to be their first round pick.

I want Fleener or Hill in the draft.

I do NOT want a RB not named Trent Richardson. I do not want a DT or G (though I'd take Konz as a C). I do not want a S.

Essentially, get me a WR, TE, DE, OT, or CB this draft.

Not sure I would be okay with them taking a WR except for a late round swing for the fences.
