2012 NHL Entry Draft Talk 12.0

I'm not a mod, but I play one on TV.

Let's continue, boys.

Anyone got a dream draft for all our picks yet ?

1st - Alex Galchenyuk
2nd - Marty Frk
2nd - Lukas Sutter
3rd - Gianluca Curcurto
4th - Branden Troock
5th - Christopher Lalancette
6th - Cedric Paquette

3 Q league prospects, 2 from Quebec themselves. Media is happy, all players fit in with the grittier style with talent we need to add

EDIT
I would take a 5th/6th rd shot at a project player like Michael McKee or Ron Knot

I'm still rooting for Galchenyuk but Forsberg is growing on me. Either way we can't go wrong.

I also like Forsberg.

Has it been concluded that we probably won't have a shot at Grigorenko?

that's my guess. That Columbus takes him as he also plays RW. With them shopping Nash, they'd need someone to replace him. And I can see CBJ getting the 5th overall as part of a package for Nash so they'd get their Dman as well

After seeing Teuvo Teravainen a couple of times on TV, I absolutely fell in love with him !!

Reminds me so much of Claude Giroux back in Gatineau; elite playmaking skills, nice hands and the never quit attitude on the ice.

I might be bias, but I want the Habs to pick Teuvo Teravainen with their 3rd overall pick.

I like TT as well, but 3rd would be a stretch for him. trade down or trade for another pick.

But I would hold onto our picks and do this
1st - Alex Galchenyuk
2nd - Marty Frk
2nd - Lukas Sutter
3rd - Gianluca Curcurto
4th - Branden Troock
5th - Christopher Lalancette
6th - Cedric Paquette

Why wouldn't we have a shot at Grigo? He's falling in all the draft rankings. Chances are we'll have a shot at him and pass.

What are the chances of frk falling to 32nd overall?
Im not being sarcastic, just curious how realistic it is

It may happen. It is a realistic thing to happen. If he gets to our choice and we pass on him, we'd seriously regret it. He's a top 10 talent but has had a couple concussions

Wasn't Frk being accused of a lot of the same things Grigs is...a little soft, perimeter player

I've watched him play all last season and about 12 of his games played this year and perimiter player is not what he is. He is physical, goes to the net and is comfortable grinding it out along the boards

If Giroux would have been a top 5 pick in his draft year, people would have bash that bold move. Today, the same people would say it was a genius move. Point is, if you believe a player is the real deal, you have to draft his even though it's a "reach"

I know what you're getting at, but I don't think he'd be the "real deal" more than a couple of the guys ranked ahead of him. Especially without a little more size to insulate him (like DD has). We could say the same about Subban as well. But there are still question marks on some prospect more than others and TT rarely gambles

----a 2-way dman, solid defensively, good shot, great pass

4th - Branden Troock
----a power forward project, good hands, solid work ethic, great speed

5th - Christopher Lalancette
----small but tough, gritty, great hands and speed

6th - Cedric Paquette
----big, great shot and speed, works hard, a project of a prospect, still very raw, doesn't use his linemates enough yet

Works for me.

I've slacked so much this year in terms of prospects...

Guaranteed there will be a first round pick that I won't know who it is, so Ill have to look it up.

If gally had played this season, do you think he would've had more points and goals than grigs?

Absolutely not! He's fantastic. You might be thinking of Hudon and he disproved all that too. He's a little small and gets outmuscled sometimes but the will is there.

He had similar stats last year as a 16-17 y/o that Grigorenko this year as a 17-18 y/o. We can think that with a normal progression he would have better stats this year so, probably yes to your question.

"Two-way player with terrific feet. Deft puck-handler who can beat defenders from the outside. Good offensive generator who needs to show consistency both in the offensive & defensive phases. Needs to be more involved when the puck isn't in his possession. Does show willingness to drop the gloves.

--Bill Placzek--"

I never seen these guys play I am just making my hockey guesses but here's a report

Andrew Ryan can't skate. No thanks. Especially not in the 3rd round.
