He has worn #29 his whole career, including Hamilton, but when he got here, it was taken. I can't remember who - somebody who got cut, anyway.

Conklin wore 29 for most of his Bulldog career, but Haakana had 29 when Conks officially became an NHLer.

a tribute to the greatest Oiler scorer of all time......Alex Selivanov.

I like how Conks kept the Bulldog on his mask. Kinda like Hedberg with the Moose.

I remeber talking to him about that in the sumer interview... he said he didn't want to fight Haakana for it. Then this fall it was Rocky Thompson who had #29 in camp and I asked Ty again and he said "I REALLY don't want to fight HIM for it!"

Funny guy. I know he also said he didn't want to wear #1 though so I'm not too sure why he still is. Then again, raffi told me he was going to wear #96 this year and he's still got #14 on his back so I guess numbers don't always matter too much.

Maybe there's a clause in Ryan Smith's contract that says he has to have the highest number on the team...

Except for the one up in the rafters, of course.
