Gervais & Colliton called up (NYI.com)

http://www.newyorkislanders.com/pres...ive.asp?id=786

Bruno Gervais has been recalled from Bridgeport (AHL) to join the Islanders' blueline for their next game, Thursday night in Atlanta. Rookie forward Jeremy Colliton has also been recalled from the Sound Tigers.

"But as a coaching staff we're treating today's news the same way we approached last week when we moved some veterans for prospects. This is another opportunity for very talented young players to step up. We have a lot of confidence in Bruno and Jeremy. Our approach for the Atlanta game does not change from the previous four -- let's do everything in our power to get the win."

I'm hoping the chemistry here right now and all the young players make this callup a better one for both players than the previous ones for both of the.

Gervais has been leading the AHL in scoring by a defender all season, no reason he cannot contribute at this level considering what he has done for Bridgeport for two years now. Colliton I guess is back for another cameo on the fourth line, but considering his production should get a look with another line and Wyatt Smith kept in the role they have him.

i'm praying that this club doesn't skip a beat, but that's a tough thing to ask.

asham's loss may be absorbed.

zhitnik on the other hand hurts.

to put grebs out there for 25 minutes a game, along with campoli, bouchard, etc. is too much to ask.

here's where a depth d-man like allan rourke (or better) would be nice.

This will be interesting, the Islanders basically will have 7 rookies in the lineup against Atlanta
