Carlson, Ovechkin, Green, Semin, Backstrom....that team has a ton of weapons...and they play a very similar defensive system to ours. Will be very interesting to see how we hold up against them.

Man, am I hating Caps fans more and more. Just read the comments on NHL.com. They're so cocky for beating us twice while we were a #7 and a #8 seed those two years we played them.

I can't wait until we burn their bandwagon.

For a team with such a horrific playoff history....their fans really shouldnt be saying a word.

I think the series boils down to

1. Can NY control Backstrom

2. and NY must find a way to beat Holtby cause that kid is dialed in right now

hopefully Boyle can return because the Rangers can use his style of play

Rangers have the best goalie in the world of today, check.

Defense looks good in general, check.

Great support from the fans, check.

-> Strongly need to get their offense going if aiming for the Cup this season, it all comes down to this right now. <-

Damn, I really hope the guys step it up and take this series...Can't believe people are acting like the Caps are gonna have an easy time with us. A less talented Rangers team took them to 7. I fully expect to win this series, especially with home ice. **** the Caps, and **** holtby.

Good luck. There will be some ranger fans here and there, but there will be more caps bandwagoners.

The only game I could make would be four, going to look into it though. I bought a red rangers shirt a couple of years ago so I could blend in easier. Caps bandwagoners are a really obnoxious bunch and I have had some prteey bad experiences the past couple of years at verizon center.

That place is worse than Philadelphia. Their ******* owner ENCOURAGES the fans to be obnoxious toward opponents, and not just the normal stuff. They encourage rude, disruptive behavior stopping just short of physical violence. With their fans basically being a bandwagon bunch who have no idea about what being a fan is all about, it makes that place very, very, very dangerous for a Ranger fan.

Both Varlamov and Neuvirth were rookie goalies in the playoffs for the Caps. Both had strong first rounds (against us...) but mediocre to weak second rounds. Let's hope that this trend continues with Holtby!

Caps fan here to say that any fan who thinks we will win this series easily, if at all, is smokin' the good stuff. They tend to be fans who started watching hockey in '05.

As I said on the main board

D - Rangers
Goal - Rangers
Top end players - Even
Grinders - Even
Coaching - Rangers
Special Teams - Even

The only way I see us winning is if Ovie shows up big and Gaborik continues to be pretty quiet. I think our 3rd/4th lines probably cancel each other out.

X-factor is definitely RC24, his presence can not be underestimated and the 'newbie' Cap fans will soon see just how much of a factor he is on a series.

Really at this point this is bonus hockey for the Caps and the hard core fans all know this. Obviously hoping for victory (heart) but thinking Rangers in 6 (head).

Good luck!

In the Ottawa series I discovered that if I had coffee the day before a game (I try to limit my caffeine so I only get coffee twice a week, and it's heaven) the Rangers lost. By that logic, I can't get coffee until Thursday

I think this schedule is BS...we should be opening on Sunday, can't believe they give the Rangers less than 48 hours between series, but I suppose that's going to happen when you go 7 games. Still a load of **** though.

Take a gander at the Rangers/Caps thread in the Caps forum. The arrogance is astounding.

Yeah I wasn't too thrilled about that so I'm giving my tickets to another person in our group.

There should be no suprises for the rangers in this series. It will be more of the same brand of hockey. Good thing is, there is no "Neil" factor in this series.

Main thing, which is obvious, is we have to start scoring some goals. This team is playing much to passive with the lead when they do score.

If Krieder continues his strong play and Boyle returns we should be in good shape!

Someone was going to get screwed. If it wasn't the rangers then it would have been florida/devils playing saturday. It is the rangers fault for letting it go 7 games, personally I am glad it starts Saturday, let them, and the garden fans, ride the emotional high from the game 7 win. Also I felt like the first round took way too long, even by game 5 I felt like the series was taking forever.

I think Caps fans have every right to be confident about this series. Just defeated the reigning Stanley Cup champs (which none of the "experts" said would happen) and have knocked the Rangers out of the playoffs twice in recent years.

Every fanbase gloats. There is probably some of that going on the Rangers' board, too.

I get to have to look at my all time hated Hockey Player, Dale Hunter. It's like he came back from the dead. The guy was nothing but a disgrace as a player. I have zero respect for him.

Rangers in 6...Capitals are good on the back end...but dont bring the same speed as Ottawa...so its gonna be a defensive and checking series..I think our D and Keeper...are better than theirs...If we get some offense...we got this..LGR!!!!!!!!
