A nickname traditionally applied to players recalled from the minors after that team (in this case, the Phantoms) gets eliminated. It goes back to the days of a legendary player-turned-exec named Eddie Shore.
@sbaickerCSN "Nicklas Grossmann is in a typical black jersey today -- looks like he might now be cleared for contact."
@sbaickerCSN "Grossmann played coy yesterday when asked about a return, but signs point to Game 1 of next series (whenever the heck that ends up being.)"
So ESPN is saying Grossman doesn't look like he will be ready for game one and is going to be out "for some time." This is the opposite of everything I've read on here saying he is fully practicing and looking to be ready for game 1. Poor reporting by ESPN or did something happen?

The Flyers will have been off almost a week by the time they get things revved up for their second-round tilt against the Devils, but that time doesn't seem to have helped useful defenseman Nicklas Grossmann, who doesn't look to be ready to start the series on Sunday...Still, without captain Chris Pronger and Andrej Meszaros longterm and Bourdon and Grossmann out for some time...

Honestly, during the playoffs, I don't think any team takes an opposing team's injury report seriously. They all lie. A player could have been shot overnight but would be "day-to-day" with an upper-body injury.

I was at practice yesterday and Grossman participated in full. So did Meszaros.
If anyone out there can get to the Skate Zone you should because it is awesome too see them practice. I took my son (Take Your Child To Work Day indeed!) and the look on his face as he was standing 6" from Jaromir Jagr was pricelss. Being able to get that close to them, all of them, is really cool and something my son will never forget.
I heard Talbot took a puck to the face and lost a tooth... missed that.
Also this will tell you what kind of person Laviolette is... practice over... everyone leaves the ice... except for Laviolette and another assistant coach. What were they doing? Moving the nets around so the Zamboni could clear the ice. Meat and potatoes man he is.
im sure the folks at ESPN are like wait the Flyers beat the Pens in the playoffs? The Bruins lost to the Caps?
oh look "Jesus" Fergeson just flopped an ace to give him a full boat!
