NFL regular season is underway!

I'm glad they timed the Jets pick well so it came during the intermission at least although I wasn't thrilled with the way the analysts kept talking for like fifteen minutes and almost ran it into the second period of the Devils game. Didn't like the pick as much, but whatever.

Sigh, I like Wilson but we let some quality lineman sit on the board...

lot of good players left

pretty happy teams reached for Irvin and Jenkins so that leaves more tasty treats!

I don't know anything about this RB.

Why is Upshaw dropping?

Ok, so this is the first I've paid attention to the draft tonight. Who did the Giants take and do we like him?

From what I'm reading about him (Wilson, RB) the Giants were very high on him. Small but explosive and can get short yardage to replace Jacobs. His only problem is ball security and isn't a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield.

That's what I'm getting from reading these reports. I literally don't know anyone in this draft.

I like the Coples pick, but would've rather had Ingram.

Coples has the higer potential for sure.

We did need a running back, but it seems like we left a lot of talented players on the board. This wasn't a strictly BPA pick, which is a bit of a departure from Reese's usual modus operandi.

Ingram didn't look too happy at first when the pick was announced, but I can imagine that he was emotionally drained after waiting a bit longer (and losing significant dollars on his contract in the process). I remember seeing Emerson Etem after the 2010 1st round and he looked absolutely out of it.

Pretty stoked about Ingram, one of those rare picks where everybody seems to approve locally and nationally.

I definitely miss the NFL Draft being on the weekend. I still have fond memories going back to the early 90s of rolling out of bed and sitting on the couch for like six hours while watching. Now it's almost always going to be conflicting with elimination games in the first round.

Offhand, it looks like Cleveland should have called Minnesota's bluff but that's easy to say in hindsight. The Browns missed out on their WR target with their 2nd first rounder and could have used those picks to move up a few spots in theory.

Yahoo had a pretty lengthy article about the Rams' war room. They missed out on their primary targets (Richardson/Blackmon) and traded down for an extra pick. With the extra picks they got from the Redskins, I would have thought they should have traded up if they liked either guy that much. But I guess Jeff Fisher is reshaping the entire team, so we'll see if he can make quantity over quality work.

I'm not even sure he's BPA but it's not a terrible pick. Coughlin was impressed that the kid showed up to his team interview in a suit which didn't hurt either

Hoping for Miller, Hill, Upshaw, or Worthy for the Broncos at 36.

I hope this doesn't become a copycat thing to do:

Quote:
Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu was the victim of a draft-night prank which led him to believe he was being taken in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sanu received a phone call from someone identifying himself as a member of the Bengals before Cincinnati made the 27th overall pick, according to Sanu's agent, Mike McCartney.

Sanu and his draft party celebrated until everyone saw the name of guard Kevin Zeitler flash across the TV screen as the Bengals' selection.

"Everybody's going nuts in his home. He's like, 'I can't hear you, Mike, I'll call you soon,' " McCartney told The Star-Ledger on Friday. "His brother calls me and he's euphoric and going nuts. We're all kind of high-fiving over the phone. And I said, 'They're about to show it on ESPN. I'll call you later.'

Fleener was upset Harbaugh didn't take him at 30. Why on earth would we draft a TE when we have Davis and Delaney ?
