Really disappointed. So much talent on the board. I really think they missed this one. I've been working with college football for a few years now and I would have gone in another direction.

I hate drafting a RB in the first. Would much rather have had Fleener, or Oline help.

I can live with the pick. He's like a Bradshaw -- strong for his size.

I think he should be a PR and Hixon a KR

And I agree, It is hard to question what Reece does. Going in I wanted an early LB and/or OL. But hope they can turn Rivers around, and hope we draft some OL in the next few rounds.

Saw a few mocks where we were projected to take a TE, don't know anything about this RB, but am very happy we did not draft a TE.

Relax guys.

We had the worst rushing offense in the league last year.

I like Wilson. Maybe not over who was on the board, but I like Wilson as a player. Stockier Bradshaw.

the guy is quick and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. i dont really see this as a bad pick especially with having an injured bradshaw and then who else after that d.j. ware? i think they might use darell scott for returns.

Lots of good TE's get drafted in the 1st round, but Eli has proven to make chocolate milk out of top soil with all the guys he's had over the last few years.

this guy good?
Giants selected Virginia Tech RB David Wilson with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
The Giants close out the quickest first-round in years by grabbing a 1-2 punch for Ahmad Bradshaw. A two-sport (track) star for the Hokies, Wilson was the 2011 ACC Player of the Year after rushing for a school-record 1,709 yards. Though his instincts, hands, and durability are concerns, Wilson has outstanding burst laterally as well as north and south. Much like Bradshaw, he's constantly fighting for extra yards. Wilson should contribute immediately for the G-Men, accruing RB3/flex value in fantasy leagues while Ahmad Bradshaw falls back to low-end RB2 territor

If it means anything...

My buddy used to work for a site where he covered NCAA, he is a Giants fan. He loves this pick.

He said with us getting Rivers, Bennett and Rogers in FA, this was a good pick. Said he thinks he could become a good 1/2 down back and will be a solid kick returner, and thinks there are OL to be had in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Like many of us have said, he said Reece knows what he is doing.

After 20 minutes, I'm not angry with the pick I just expected something more. With the amount of talent that dropped to 32 I had really high hopes. I'll trust Reese though.

Not a fan of the Wilson pick to be honest. Would have much preferred Fleener, Hill, or addressing the OL.

That said if there is one executive in sports who has earned my trust it is Jerry Reese.

I can't believe there are people who would've rather had Fleener than this kid. I have a feeling it's just a lack of hype around Wilson, but the fact of the matter is that he automatically becomes our best pass catching threat out of the backfield, and has the ability to be a workhorse when Bradshaw has his inevitable foot/ankle injury. And if all else fails, he is a really good return man, which is something we haven't had since god knows when.

Although I may be repeating what every Giants fan is thinking. In Reese We Trust.

The guy is a genius and has propelled us to our most successful era in franchise history. So, going into this draft all I said was those words. I trust that man.

Yep. Definitely gotta trust Reese. Honestly I wasn't blown away by anybody else we could pick either. That's what happens when you're super bowl champs at the draft. Wilson is going to be good, imo. From what i've seen, he's hit or miss...but when he hits he REALLY hits. Not a lot of guys can get to and through holes like he can.

All of Wilson's "cons" are fixable.

Giants always had good luck with smaller backs - Joe morris, Tiki, Meggett and AB.

We were picking 32. We all knew this pick wouldn't be a starpower shocker.

Fleener would have been a waste of a 1st rounder IMO, even though I liked the idea of a big TE for Eli

I am really curious where Jenkins falls. Same with Marin, Glenn, Hill, etc. Lots of big names still available. If Jenkins is at the Giants pick, they have to take him. I think he's snatched up early, though. 2nd best cornerback in this draft talent wise.

As a Jets fan, I have mixed emotions about Coples. I definitely preferred Coples to Jones, so I'm happy in that sense, but this just has a very Gholston ring to it. We'll see what happens, though.
