Who knows, maybe we'll get a surprise and he'll win it like everyone was shocked when Verlander won the MVP.

Congrats Hank.

Logically if Hank gets nominated for the MVP and Quick does not, then how can you possibly not give Hank the Vezina.

I think Hank deserves Hart. More than the other two nominees anyway simply because should you take each guy out of his roster the Rangers would suffer more than TB or PIT. However he will have a better chance to win Vezina. Why? Because all these NHL awards are popularity contests. Therefore Western GMs are likely to vote for either Quick or Rinne, while Eastern once are likely to recognize Hank simply because they know their Conference goalies better. Western vote will be therefore, split. That is advantage Lundqvist.
Even more popularity factors reside with writers, who select Hart winner. Eastern writers do not watch West as they go to bed early after too many beers (as per Alex Kovalev, who, obviously, knows). Western writers do not watch East either since, it broadcast, due to time difference, too early for them to start drinking. Jokes aside, writers do not care about other side of the NHL, as a matter of fact. They wright for fans who don't. So should two Hart finalists have been from West, like with Vezina, Lundqvist would have had a better chance. Yet, all Hart nominees are from East, so it becomes a toss. Plus, goalies do not win Hart, usually.

I thought Quick should have been one of the three, slightly ahead of Hank. Just for the Hart, not the Vegina.

Malkin should definitely win the Hart...that team lost the best player in Hockey for most of the year and still almost won the East and the Presidents trophy. Amazing run.

Pretty much means Lundqvist is winning the Vezina, I guess.

This. He'll still get ****ed though so be prepared.

This is the NHL's way of compensating him.

Not been watching the NHL long? A lot of things in the NHL completely defy logic.

Wow. This is a shocker- Hank deserves the nomination but I didn't expect it.

****ing awesome. The King is the greatest Ranger of this generation. Love Hank.

I don't see him winning it, but it's great to have it under his belt anyway. He'll win the Vezina this year.

So, does this pretty much lock him for Vezina?

Henrik wins the Vegina pretty often.

Quick should have been nominated over Lundqvist. Lundqvist should win the Vezina that goes to the best goalie but Quick was more important to his team. Without him, they easily would have missed the playoffs.

For the Quick arguments, its extremely close.

But I'd trust Bernier in the Pacific easily over Biron in the Atlantic.

Oh god...imagining Biron against the Flyers. Already saw him 2X against Pitt. That was ugly.

I don't understand why people are asking this. The voting is done like the same time and different people vote. It's not like the GMs will ask, "So who did the PHWA vote for?"

Quick definitely has a solid case for being a Hart finalist as well.

However, I think the hockey writers are more impressed when a goalie can carry his team to the top of the conference as opposed to when a goalie carries his team to a 7th or 8th seed, otherwise Lundqvist probably would have been a finalist before this season. Larry Brooks said something along these lines in a tweet earlier today.
