Mantis deferred to me whenever I got back online, so here it is.
I love my 1st round choice in the mock getting snapped up in the 2nd round.
The Adams pick has to say the Steelers don't believe that Colon is long for the line. Adams needs to improve on things before he starts, so hopefully he'll get what Gilbert didn't get a chance to do - be an actual back-up as a rookie, so it's nice to still have Colon around...but this really has to say a lot about Colon's standing in the organization right now.

I wouldn't quite say that but the perception of it is widely believed.
They've put up with Ben (multiple **** charges), Santonio (various problems) and have had multiple domestic abuse guys (Cedrick Wilson, James Harrison), DUI guys and so on. They dealt with Jeff Reed until he started missing kicks. The perception that the Steelers are a super clean organization is a myth perpetuated by fans and media for most part.
If the player is good, they put up with it, if not, not so much.
Colon is going to have to play more than 2 quarters in the last 2 seasons until I can get back into believing in him. That's a ton of time missed and his game may have suffered permanently from practically missing 2 whole years. I'll be wary into he proves otherwise.
Now that he's out of college, Adams can trade all the memoribilia he wants for tattoos or any other service he would like. And there aren't a whole ton of guys in the NFL who don't blaze up. Marijuana is not a "character issue," it's a reason to make sure a guy knows when his turn for "random" drug testing is.
It's something to watch, but I wouldn't be as worried about it as, say, Cam Newton's B&E, Santonio Holmes' inability to interact with women or LaGarrette Blount's complete inability to get along with anyone.
Only reason I'm on the computer at all today is because of the draft
Adams' problems are minor ones in my eyes. Poor judgement and the like...but as long as a guy isn't blowing off practices to get high I don't see smoking marijuana as a concern at all. Other drugs, oh yeah, but weed? Man...it's 2012.
I was pulling for Trumaine Johnson something fierce, but that wasn't going to happen with us going back-to-back corners in last year's draft. We may take a guy later in the draft, but it wasn't going to be early in this draft unless it was a DeCastro-level falling of a player way too good to pass up.
He's way too good to be on the board still...I'm just hoping he doesn't end up somewhere I hate.
Apart from his poor decision-making, Mike Adams has also proven lazy and not so bright. Want to like the pick, but...

I said earlier that I'd target Chapman or a RB in the third, but I didn't expect Miller to still be around and he's a great value right now. But I also think Chapman could be a huge pick since he's fallen due to playing injured last season.
Interesting presser. Apparently Adams contacted the Steelers recently about his issues. The Steelers told him point blank he was off their board, but Adams was willing to comply with their stipulations and they are comfortable taking this chance.

I think I'm more concerned now than before.
A punter? wow

I prefer Thompson and Ta'amu over Chapman. Chapman could miss a whole training camp, it would be a waste year for him. We don't even have a quality backup for nose tackle since Hoke retired.
