I've heard nothing, I wouldn't mind a change however.
UPDATED: does say at the bottom of this link, he's "hopeful" that we'll redo our jerseys. I think he's just stating an opinion though and not basing that off anything he's heard.
how many teams are left still using the same jersey template they did when they switched to the edge jerseys? (teams like detroit & rangers dont count since their jerseys never change)
Ottawa still uses the same template, but you gotta think they'll be making their current 3rds their primary jerseys and going to create a complimenting home version.
I guess Vancouver does too, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them change theirs either. (back to the rink logo?)
there are probably other teams that still use them, but im drawing a blank.

Looks like you're spot on from what I can tell....
The early 90s template is perfect. No need to be different just to be different... I thought a lot of people didn't like the mid-90s jerseys for that reason.
Seriously, don't they pay people to do designs? Who came up with the Vegas Gold idea anyway? Wasn't it just a third jersey coloring back in 2000 anyway? Why we decided to run with it instead of tradition, I'll never know...
I work at the design firm that did the Pens rebrand back in '93. I have sketches that confirm that they considered Vegas Gold back then.
I love 1 and 3 on the top row. ****ing excellent jerseys. Really would love to see those used.

Our current jerseys are based off of the original Edge template that RBK/Reebok came up with. A few other teams originally chose that motif as well (Ottawa, TB) but have since designed their own, more traditional and personal designs. Our jerseys are the worst in the league because literally zero thought went into them. Not the logo, mind you, but the jersey itself.

I think the Pens always have decent jerseys because of the logo (althogh I hate the 90s logo). Those ones that poster put above are awesome, especially the bright yellow ones. They would be a nice third, or maybe even a home (like the old Kings).
The worst jerseys are LA Kings. Not only is the logo completely lame, but the overall design is terrible.

I like the way they look though. I really don't care if its creative or original. Not saying you have to like them, but I do. Certainly not the best in the league, but somewhere in the middle. I'm just glad they aren't red or blue. The thirds are definitely towards the bottom.
I'm pretty sure House'O'Hockey in Monroeville, PA still has some, I'd recommend to contact them and check as well as specifically request this version of jersey if you happen to order. I'm pretty sure if you don't make such a request they'll just give you whatever jersey they happen to pick first.
A little off topic, but I always get my jerseys from House O' Hockey too, because they will take premier blanks, and sew the authentic nameplates and numbers from the Edge jerseys to them, so you basically get an authentic looking jersey for about half the price of an Edge jersey.
The only real difference is the placement of the Reebok logo, and the fabric thickness... and I guess the fit as well.
