No. MSG will not be carrying the games. The NBC channels have exclusivity here in the US for all remaining games.

And I disagree with you about Emerick. I think his anti-Ranger bias is now more obvious. Broadcasting on MSG kept him in check to a certain extent.

So I can relax knowing that this will not be broadcast on CSN and will be shown on the NBC station instead?

Yes Please!! Cannot stand these guys sometimes.

Thanks... Had to double check in advance because I always record the games and then watch on a delay.

What do you hear from Emerick that you don't like? I never hated the guy, but after last year's playoff coverage, he really grew on me. I don't have any qualms about him. Seems to stay pretty objective IMHO.

I am so upset MSG will not carry the NYR's Stanley Cup run.

All through MSG's tv ad's we kept hearing "catch every minute of NYR playoff action right here..."

One round is all they had? I couldn't believe Sam was signing off after that last Ottawa game.

Now I have to listen to that whiny voice the rest of the way? This Sucks big time!

Sam Rosen is just as big a part of NYR's as anyone in this organization. And he won't be there for our Cup run? This is a crime.

Woah! What's what up with the hate for Hayward? Thought he called an even-handed analysis during the Rangers-Sens series. And IMO, he does a heckuva job during the regular season for Ducks games. He's not a homer announcer, by any means.

LOL! I thought it was Doc who sounded like a slightly lower-pitched Gilbert Gottfried.

I think people always look to complain for some reason. We should just be happy we're in the 2nd round and we can watch our Rangers.

This screams #firstworldproblems -- Just thought I'd say it.

How about we be happy we are playing in the 2nd round and can watch the team on TV for every single game?

I'm not going to complain about something I cannot change, but having lived through a Stanley Cup run without the benefit of having season tickets I will say this: having MSG back in 1994 made it that much more special. There are things that only a local channel can catch--especially given the long history of the Ranger organization. Being able to listen to JD and Emile Francis talk about the experiences they had with the organization back in the 1960s and 1970s between overtimes was truly amazing. It was like having your family over for every game. And there were certain angles they caught that a national sports network would have never known about.

Doc is a legit pbp guy and a good guy. To assume that he calls a game unfair, or skews the action he sees because of sime prejudice is to question both his integrity and his professionalism. He's never given any hint to me that he calls a biased game either for a ream or against one. Those calling into question his competance and his integrity should be supporting their position with evidence, otherwise it's nothing more than libelous drivel.

At least on NBC, we can actually hear how loud our home crowd is for a change. The sound on MSG (or lack thereof) is a pet peeve of mine.

Just get the sports package with NBC in it. My guess is that if you have 3000+ posts on an internet message board you're a big enough of a sports fan to warrant spending 5 extra bucks a month (you'll probably get NHL network too if you upgrade, depending on your provider).

One of the few announcers to use phrases like:

"Recoils for the attack"
"Knifes the puck"

The voice is chalkboard worthy though.

As long as Emrick isn't announcing I can handle NBC. Although it stinks because you know that if the Rangers make round 3, that Emrick always does the big east coast games and if you get to the finals, he's it.

If you want to listen to ESPN radio and you happen to be near a computer, there's a program called Radio Delay that will delay the radio feed based on your input so you can match it to the TV. I've used it a few times, it's nice. You just need a radio that will input into your computer's microphone slot and then play it back on your computer's speakers.

Has he ever used "And he scores!... From the side!!..."?

During the finals last year the catch phrase was, "OH WHAT CHAOS!".

Other than nostalgia, Im thrilled about this. Sam just cant follow and dictate the play anymore, hasnt been able to for a few years now.

His interaction with Joe can be described as awkward at best.

And yet Sam, as well as the Sam and Joe tandem in general, are better by a wide margin, than the play-by-play and color duos for nearly every other local broadcast, and the majority of the pairs used for national broadcasts.

I agree regarding the local pairs, but thats more of an idictment on their weakness than Sam and Joe being any good. Maybe Im just spoiled from listening to a cognizant Sam and JD all those years.

I do enjoy Emrick and Olzyck, however. I think theyre both fantastic.
