What Ever Happened To...?

Antti Miettinen.

Modano=God said time after time how he was going to win the Calder Trophy. How's he doing or is he hurt or what is going on with him (NOT THE DALLAS STARS!)?

Yeah, he had one point which was a pretty goal on a breakaway. He basically, aside from a gift breakaway (he didn't do anything to create it, his teammates did), has done nothing offensively.

Sadly, Tippet decided to juggle him around a lot throughout the line-up, which I think hurt him. I think the fact that Lehtinen got hurt also caused some problems with him..Im sure he'll be back up within a month, and will probably be better off with the time in the minors.

Wow.. I know you have something against me, but at least get your *** facts straight if you want to make fun of me. I never ever claimed Miettinen to win the Calder, I just listed him as a darkhorse candidate, just like every other fan of his would.

You really are *** sad..

That while acomplishing the exact same as Henrik Zetterberg, and both play a pretty comparable game too. Just seems not right..

Also, before you reply to me, I do not see him as a Calder favorite by any means. He will lack the icetime and offensive oppertunities to put up the numbers that get him mentioned. Just saying what I've heard the past few days..

Could be a Calder challenge.

clearly not advocating him as a calder favorite

I picked Pitkanen, Eminger, or Colaicovo...

Pitkanen is doing well, but that Eminger pick isn't doing so well...
Is Colaicovo even in the NHL?

Miettinen was sent down to Utah for probably the rest of the year. He wasn't ready for NHL hockey. If he comes up, it likely won't be for long.

He was invisible in the offensive zone outside a few bursts of skill. He was pretty weak on defense as well. He got knocked off the puck too easily.

He has a lot of skill, and showed some creativity with the puck. I look forward to him contributing in the future, but he just needs time to get used to the North American game. It was a stretch for him to jump right in anyway.

Tell me about it. Sejna had Blues' fans foaming at the mouth when we heard he was on a line with Weight. Sejna might be sent down to Worester (Blues' minor-league team in AHL). Sejna is VERY dissapointing so far.

He is with St John's right now. While having a good showing at training camp, Max Kondratiev was even more impressive and won the remaining spot. Could be that the Leafs management thought it was better for Carlo to get a lot of time in the AHL rather than limited time on a Leafs defense which isn't exactly a powerhouse nor studded with veteran partners who could help him ease in. From all accounts he is playing well, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a callup during the season. He will obviously not challenge for the Calder though.
