Apparently we're ruining hockey, which is absolute music to my ears after years of zero coverage in defense, 3 goals against per game.

My favorite star players getting shut down? Might as well scream out the word "boring" as many times as possible.

Yup, I was just being facetious, given the circumstances... I don't make a habit of harboring any ill will towards the fans of our rivals. That was so 1990's for me, when I was younger and my brother and his older friends (Devil fans) would always instigate with me for being a Rangers fan, lol. Only team or organization I hate in the league is Philly - and a lot of that stems from their approach to the game and style of play over the years. They earned their reputation.

Would I enjoy if Rangers would be able to score 6 or 7 goals per game and give up 8 with 0 defensive coverage and crappy goaltending like we saw from some other teams this post season? My answer is NO.

What didn't you like about the broadcast Bob?

I always enjoy the combination of Pierre, Eddie O. & Emrick.... No qualms about how they called the game....

Just got back from the main board. HOLY LOL. First off, they are complaining that we celebrated like we won the cup. Guess it's too loud for them. How about next time your coach doesn't criticize our arena?

Kreider is going to be a superstar. He was everywhere. And that shot was tremendous. Kudos to Sather for not giving him up.

About the fact that we had 14 shots: I'm fine with it. We learned it in game 5. Getting 40 shots with only 5 quality ones is worse than getting 14 shots with 7 quality ones.

Holtby looked shaky in game 7, and he showed it here. His confidence was rocked today. To whoever thought that he's on par with Hank: please send me what you are smoking.

Ovi was DESTROYED by McD and Girardi. Kickass. Semin looked like an immature dumbass with those 2 penalties. Tripping on the forecheck? Bro... Also, LOL to Green not paying attention and going for a change.

Olczyk absolutely hates the Rangers. It's pathetic.

BIG win. Let's do it again on Monday. Take all the confidence out of those frontrunning mother****ers.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!

No he doesn't. He is just pumping the bigger stars in this series. Those stars happen to be on the Caps. If Gabs actually did something he would be all over his junk.

I have seen a few games with him gushing about the Rangers. Not quite as much as Chicago, but still.

It's a good thing. The "boring/ruining hockey" comments will vanish as soon as the rangers start losing. It's a petty little insult from fans of the losing team. As if it somehow compensates for the fact that their team just lost and was shut down offensively.

Winning is never, ever boring.

Ovechkin was a -1 and had 1SOG. blame rangers "boring" style.

Backstrom -1 and 1SOG blame rangers "boring" style.

Your team is a pain in the ass to play against thus you get the ******** fans pouting and moaning.

And I'm done complimenting the rangers for today. Yech

Pierre gotta be the weirdest guy/thing in the NHL. He looks ''regular'' then you see his profile and you realize that he has a skinny face and the fattest body ever! Haha looks weird as hell, and then you got the creepin' up on ppl and the use of the words ''monster''.

Strange thing this ''McGuirre''.

You know, watching today's game, as a Ranger fan, I never once thought the Capitals were going to beat the Rangers. Frankly, after what the Rangers went through against Ottawa, this game was remarkably not stressful. The Caps' big stars, most notably Ovechkin, Semin and Green were liabilities. I can see why Hunter would bench them in tight games.

Yep. Caps looked like trash for large stretches of the game.

As I said, if the Rangers do what they did today they'll dominate the rest of the series.

Yeah the Rangers forecheck was really effective and it made me feel a lot less nervous. Rangers seemed more in control

All pretty much play the same style of hockey .
Hitchcock was pretty pissed when his team was labeled a " defensive " team , he boldly said we try and establish a forecheck and keep a team pinned in and play up in your face in the neutral zone .
All the above teams play the same type of game . The league made I this way . I and when the NYR PP matches it's PK and defensive structure whether it's this season or next few they will be champs . The NHL turned the game into a special teams war and now that the pure NZT is gone the trend on WINNING teams is to have defensive STRUCTURE play within your own SYSTEM , good goaltending and MOBILE D MEN who can pinch and more importantly control gaps .

The days of having 10 -15 40-60 goal scorers is gone their are too many teams the talent is spread to thin .
ANYone declAring the NYR ate ruining hockey Better wAtch the teams still alive and who is out .
Oh yeah LA is a defensive team with elite goal tending

This thread isn't a place where you can flame other fans and talk about bannings/infractions. Don't know why anyone would think that.

Anyway, I listened to the game on the radio while with my friends. Sounded like a solidly played game, and Kreider sounded like he had a great game.
