A long history of pain!

I thought King played well. Guys reach in unreal. As a really unexpected ability to steal pucks. Seems to get a few each game and his play at the end was key at killing a few more minutes.

Penner was flying! Deserves to get on the 2nd line (think he was getting way more ice time this game) but I think that both King and of course VV have really stepped up their game. Even with the 4th line having real troubles.

The best way to shut up those obnoxious Blues fans is to keep winning. So far, so good.

At least they didn't cough up a shorty.

Losing Pietrangelo for almost the entire game was a huge loss for the Blues.
He played the first and second, just missed the third. Their bigger problem was the penalties.

Watch it again. Kopitar could have scored that goal too. Kopitar and Greene beat Backes to the front.

That can't happen when on the PP. it was a lazy play.

Well I must say up here in the great white north it's so nice not to have to listen to homer Jim Hughson again on CBC. TSN is showing the series up here so we get the great Chris Cuthbert and Ray Ferraro combo. I love it!

Awesome win!!!!!!

I saw some posts about people mocking Keith Jones- I can't stand him. The whole time we played against Washington, whenever he was on, it was Caps this, Caps that, blah blah blah. He hates the Bruins, and most of us Bruins fans return the love to him. I can't stand listening to him.........

I'm watching the 3rd again. They were pretty complimentary of the Kings overall. Far from unbearable.

Yes but it makes the post-game SO much more entertaining. I actually prefer them acting like the Kings don't deserve to be there.

Wow.

Greene made NO mistake. What a game.

This Kings team is playing textbook playoff hockey.

I didn't think NBC was that bad. It was way worse against Vancouver.

Didn't really bother me during the game. Jones is an idiot calling Backes the x-factor.

We're getting stuff from them like, "The Kings aren't good enough to beat us clean." Absurd stuff like that. Of course there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary, including not just tonight's game but the whole Vancouver series, which certainly was "clean" compared to practically every other first round series.

They, along with Gord Miller are fantastic. Cuthbert just calls it as he sees it and Ferraro is really sharp. He isn't afraid to speak his mind which is something I like.

and I think Engblom called Stewart the x-factor during the telecast too.

Engblom was so annoying during the game Strader was ok, no issue with him

Just need to keep winning and make them a distant memory. Tonight was a good start.

All sorts of a little facts get thrown about.

Did you know the Kings are 2nd in hits in the NHL during the regular season or that we've had the 2nd most goals from d-men (I think just in the playoffs)?

I've been watching a whole heck of a lot of hockey and it's amazing seeing how different we play when compared to some of these EC teams. They're soft and can't play defense to save their lives. Hell, they keep talking about that rookie Caps goalie like he's the second coming and I've never seen rebounds bigger.

It's nice to get a little happy about what we have.

GAME 1 parallels with the Vancouver game:

--Opponent scores first
--Shorthanded goal scored (brown involved)
--Penner scores a goal
--Opponent shoots puck over the glass

hopefully there'll be more parallels with the rest of this series
