Someone make a Ukraine Is Not Weak themed Ruslan Fedotenko shirt right now.

People dare doubt this man? Feds is a damn good role player and a winner. Not his first huge game as a Ranger.

So much for Holtby's Save Percentage.

As for the lucky posts, the Ranger's had at least one post I can remember, and perhaps there was one more.

Shot totals for the Rangers would be higher if people could hit the net from the point, and the Caps goal wouldn't have happened either.

Only one post was clean, the deflection at the top of the crease. The others Hank got enough of to deflect off the post. They where fantastic saves! Especially Semin's laser from the right circle!

Yes, but somehow the reality has been warped from 3 posts, two of which were Lundqvist saves to 5 posts, one of which he saved.

Either way, I thought Henrik was solid.

We can keep the Caps pinned in their zone more than we could Ottawa i think, especially bc they have some slow Dmen... the Caps team as a whole doesn't really seem as physical and hard-hitting as Ott either, atleast in game 1. I really think this series won't be as taxing physically on our players as the last one because of those two things... and if we can end it by 5 games we should have some good rest going into the ECF. Caps can't beat us at our own game, i'm not really nervous.

We will come out better next game

i agree...they don't have the pieces to beat us at our own game...they had a few good shifts in our own zone, but i felt we handled them well....that said the rangers need to keep improving, they must not settle for their play, they need to keep elevating their play each game...i am looking forward to game 2!!! they also need to prepared for the caps to come out and elevate their game...we need to keep getting traffic in front of holtby and outwait him before we shoot and we will take it to them...keep rolling rangers!!!

Yup, after every game this playoffs (and all season really), win or lose, the players and Torts have talked about working on their game and improving. Not worried about them stagnating or settling on their play. I really do think we will get even better as this playoffs move along. We've only seen god-mode Lundqvist for one or two games i think...

A bunch of Penguins fans told us in no uncertain terms that Fedotenko was a garbage signing when he agreed to a deal with the Rangers after training camp in 2010.

A bunch of dumb Penguins fans. Feds is a winner - he's not flashy but he gets the job done, whatever that job just happens to be. They could've used him this year, believe me.

**** anybody who doubts us. This team is for real when it plays like they did today.
I think I'm done with the main board outside of the photoshop threads for the rest of our run. It's an absolutely terrible place.

Seriously. I will take Ruslan Fedotenko on my team any day of the week and twice on Sundays. The guy makes the right play 9 times out of 10.

I go there for the lulz. I have bookmarked maybe 30 posts whining about how we are the luckiest team in the league.

Yeah we were so lucky against Ottawa in games 6 & 7 one ******** call in each game lead to a PPG for the Sens, So lucky that a no goal that was kicked in was given.

If we are the luckiest team i'd hate to be a fan of the unluckiest.

Aside from the obvious turning points in the game, one point that cannot be ignored was Mike Rupp absolutey plowing into Holtby early on. That was well worth the two minutes and seemed to have rattled the kid.

Rupp was also pounding Green into the boards when the 4th line got shifts in the other side of the rink. He looked like an elite 4th liner yesterday.

Sweet mother of God, it never ends. We could recreate the Red Wings dynasty and we'd still get called lucky.

Pittsburgh and Edmonton fans are dead last on the list of teams who have any justification when calling us lucky.
