Yes. He may not have a cup, but he carried that team to the finals against us and is the reason they don't have Hall, Stamkos, Hedman, etc on the roster. Hes still a tank.

No, I agree with you. Harding's injury history does concern me.. Seems kinda nit picky on my part but it's the repeat injuries that make me hesitant.

11/07 - 3 games - head injury

11/09 - 3 games - lower body (hip)

2/10 - 3 games - lower body (reaggrevated hip)

3/10 - missed last 7 games of the regular season (hip again)

2010- 2011 - missed entire season (torn mcl)

10/3/11 - Ankle (day to day - made 1st appearance 10/15)

12/7/11 - neck injury IR 5 games

2/22/12 - undisclosed (pre cautionary held out)

2/26/12 - lower body (called tweak - knee) no down time. Played in next 4 games

3/8/12 - lower body (called another tweak) served as backup till 3/19

Again, sort of nit picky but it is the injuries to his hip and knee that have me cautious because he's never played 35+ games in a season. Increased workload = increased risk imo

The torn MCL was a deal breaker last year for signing him, as there was no telling how good he was going to be, but the Minnesota Wild have the luxury of holding a goalie out for precautionary reasons when they've got Niklas Backstrom.

There's another thread about Riku....we'd like to have him back but not sure if he's even available contract-wise.

I'm not sure bringing him to Tampa would be a good idea. We have MacDill AFB right here, and that's where they run SOCOM, so if he PO'ed the President...

I think most military guys would agree with Thomas, they just can't say it

I was really hoping for Schneider but looks like that ship has sailed. Luongo has given notice to Vancouver that he wanted to be traded, short list including Tampa Bay and Toronto. His contract is just to damn big. I think we would have to give up way too much to really take him on. I read an article on yahoo sports, which was calling for trading Vinny for Luongo. Not sure if I like that either.

What we truly need is a young upstart that has yet to prove himself and surprises everyone. Something like Jimmy Howard.

Honestly, if the options aren't there for this offseason I'd be willing to ride Timmy T for a year and then get our future next year when we have both goalie slots open.

Thomas would waive to come here, be teammates with Marty again.

his NTC expires after this season, so he won't have it this summer, but as you say he would waive it to come to TB

I'm always amused by the right wing's belief that those in the military agrees with them.

Not to get into a political debate but most military folks I know are Republican leaning. The downsizing isn't too popular among them either.

Don't drink the Vancouver Media kool-aid, Schneider is very much on the market.

I believe it. A lot of **** about it makes sense.

Think of it like this - you have a goaltender that can take you to the big show and already has once, but the offense choked. You have a goaltender that carried you to the playoffs many nights this year when the defense looked inept. He is already locked in for years and for a very reasonable cap hit. You have a kid in the third slot (Lack) that looks fantastic as well. Do you take what you can get for Lu, and end up paying Schneider more, eventually? Do you think he'll sign a sweetheart deal the same way Lu did? No, he wants to get paid, just like most guys. Are you that much better off when he wants 7 million in 4-5 years?

Or, do you take a kings ransom for the kid, get a pick, a scoring line winger and a great prospect? Outside of Jensen and Labate, they don't have a big crop of big forwards with solid scoring touch, although much like us, they have a few smaller guys who have been productive in the A. Panik could be a nice pickup, along with some other goodies for them.

Would like to know what SFY and Guy think of Panik... I wouldn't want to deal him... so much potential IMO

Speaking of Panik, how's he our top prospect? I'd gladly trade Det 1st(who many want to take a goalie with)+Panik+Gudas/Nesterov/Kucherov whichever Vancouver wants for Schneider. I don't see Panik or Gudas as much more than life long AHLers.

Not a political thread, but who is downsizing popular with?

That and having him play in the Tampa Bay Times Forum which is a strongly Democrat leaning newspaper.

Edit: Forgive me....Socialist Democrat...there is no "Democratic Party" anymore.

He means contract. I'd be willing to overpay in terms of assets for Bernier.

Okay, TT is out of contention, I don't want him anywhere near TB if it's going to turn everything into a political discussion. Don't they have any perverts or alcoholics available who can play goalie? That would be far more preferrable.

We have no need for Loktionov. We'd want a young D coming back if we're giving up the 10 + Connolly. I can't see you moving Voynov and I'm not sold on some of your prospects.
