OBVIOUSLY, it's all about will he come or not. 'Cause on talent alone, he'd 1st round worthy. I obviously don't see him going at that rank in the real draft. So if we'll play +/-.....I'll come out the big loser. But that's not why I chose him. I like him very much, and bet that if he ever comes over, I'd be able to claim the paternity....if he never comes...well.....won't be my fault. See, I don't lose.... I had a couple of other guys....just felt like gambling....
First-round worthy in the NHL? I wonder why Jaskin, who was a KHL first overall pick (in 2010) wasn't an NHL first-rounder... Now Slepyshev is perhaps better than the other two KHL first overall picks so he could be better than Jaskin.

On a sidenote: Pashnin is a first/second-pairing, shutdown D-man on a playoff-bubble CSKA; Jaskin didn't play even one game for Sibir, staying in the Czech Republic, semi-sucking on Slavia and later shining on Berounsti Medvedi.

Well again, talent alone in THIS YEAR'S draft? Totally. Again, you will have guys in the late 1st round that will be nothing else than 3rd and maybe even 4th liners. I see Slepy has a top 6 or nothing else. But we are talking about 2012 here. 2013, would have been a total different ballgame.

I do have to say though....I'm terribly late in my analysis of the draft. I'm usually done by our mock draft but I'm clearly not. So it is possible I would have went another way. But hey, it is just a game. And I like Slepy very much.

I gotta admit I only saw him in the U18s... + highlights but that doesn't show anything except for talent. I liked him but I saw some similarities with Avtsin. We'll see.
I know. I usually don't do it though. In fact, I don't think I ever did....I do gamble in later picks but not 1st rounder.

As per PM from Schooner, the New Jersey Devils select goaltender Andrey Vasilevski.

Hoto has been PMd.

David Conte: "With 22nd pick, NJ Devils are proud to continue our tradition of strong goaltending by selecting Andrey Vasilevski from Salavat Ufa. It should also be mentioned that there was some obvious ownership interference with this pick as Lou and I aren't stupid enough to chose 2013 as the draft year we forfeit our 1st as a result of Kovalchuk cap circumvention penalty."

Good night, lads.

With the 23rd overall pick in the Habs Board Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Lightning are pleased to select, from the Peterborough Petes, defenseman Slater Koekkoek.

Slater is a big, solid, skilled defenseman who has strengths in all three zones. We like his intangibles and his leadership qualities and we think he'll be a steady force on our back end for years to come.

Next GM has been PM'd

It's always fun to be able to pick guys I've actually watched, and I really liked what I saw from Koekkoek.

Any team would be ecstatic to have a chance at him anywhere 20+, imo. He's gonna be damn good.

Vasilevski could definitely make sense for New Jersey. Would be surprised if they didn't go with Subban instead, though.

Having seen Wilson's last 13 games, I'm eager to see his next 13... especially if any of the scoring talent around him moves to the next level and he's expected to carry more of a load for the long haul. Bathgate is gone, and who knows how many of Noesen, Aleardi, Rackell, Miller, and Heard will be back with Plymouth next season. Heck, same thing with Schmitz and Levi when it comes to offense coming from the defense on that team.

"The Islanders are thankful to have received the best consolation prize ever in Mathew Dumba with the 4th overall pick. To be awarded for being drunk on the job is the American dream, so I want to salute the other GMs in the league for their generosity and mock their sobriety"

Dumba is seen as a high risk/high reward player. We in the Islanders organization strongly feel he is much closer to being a high reward. If there was one word that could describe Matt, it would be explosiveness. Whether he explodes up the ice with his superb skating, delivers an explosive shot from the blue line or catches an unsuspecting attacker with an explosive hit, he will contribute positively to this team for years. Among his uncanny talent and drive, he is a natural leader, being named captain of Team Canada on the international stage in more than one occasion.

Slater to TB and Vasilevsky to NJ is just straight up awesome.

Malcom to Bruins seems more like Boston is trolling Montreal lol

"With the 26th selection in the 2012 NHL Draft the Buffalo Sabres are proud to select from the U.S. National Development Team Nicolas Kerdiles

"We recognize we have a need at the centre position. Kerdiles has good size, tremendous wheels and an excellent work ethic. His showing at the Under 18's, specifically in the gold medal game, shows us that he can be a point producer at the NHL level with a penchant for coming up big when it counts the most."

Damn, thought Kerdiles wouldn't be on anyone's radar until the second. Sucks. Looks like Vancouver is picking up a D.
