Nah, it'll go to New Orleans because they need a marquee guy like Anthony Davis to help the fact that their franchise is on the market (I don't think it's been sold yet, has it?) and they need to attract owners. And how better to do that than adding one of the most hyped prospects in the last few years?

The Saints owner bought it, didn't he?

I'm pretty sure he did.

Nice,

Shall we expect NBA bounties then? Over/Under $1500 to target Bargnani's calve?

I believe they have a 3.5% chance, since they split the odds with Golden State.

The coin flip only determines who gets the seventh and eighth pick if both teams don't move up or down in the lottery.

Clippers won it last year being 8th last and I think they had some odds of like 2.8%. Chicago won it few years ago and got Rose being 9th last.

So there is some hope!

I think NBA does. It's got a lot of potential. Remember when the Raps could make the playoffs? They drew a lot of fans and if the team could become better, they could sell out like every game.

I would probably start watching raptors games if we got davis, I watched a ton of NCAA basketball and he was unbelievable

We'll see who was right

The Nets, Cavaliers, and the Kings tanked the Raptors played the Hero, now we'll see how they make up. No one needs a SS like this franchise because no impact UFA's are coming here, the only one's who do come fat and out of shape and looking for their Money.

OKC is winning it. Why are they so overlooked?

Overlooked? Most people are expecting an OKC/MIA final; the regular season game between the two was thought of as a preview to the Finals.

The NBA originally expanded into Canada because of the success of the Blue Jays (They were the most financially best team in the MLB I think). I think it proves the raptors could be possibly one day become a large market and one of the top spenders of the league. We just need a tank harder (or hope Val becomes our savoir).

Back in the vinsanity days raptor games were averaging 1mil viewers in Canada. I believe it was a hair below Leaf games.

Just realized that the draft age went up to 19 on the year we got the #1. Couldn't believe how much we got screwed.

Then realized that if we could still draft 18 YO, we would pick Oden.

And the Raptors are still one of the top 5 teams in the NBA for revenue (last year they were 5th behind LAL, NYK, CHI and BOS) and 9th in terms of team's estimated worth.

This draft is so deep that even a top 8 pick will look great in next year's starting 5. Yes, the Raptors can grab a starter even with the 8th pick.

I pray one of Lamb or Barnes falls to us.

I'd love to move up to grab MKG. As much as some say he's not the best fit on the Raptors but he can do so many things well and will only add to our recent defensive surge.

Jared Sullinger, Austin Rivers and even someone like Perry Jones have potential high reward.

Valanciunas has me excited. I hated the pick when we made it, at the time I thought "here we go again, another soft euro." But I couldn't be more wrong, since I started watching his highlights and following him, guy is an absolute beast. Playing against men in one of Europe's strongest leagues as a 19 year old C. He's developed quite well this year. And he could turn out to be the best player out of the 2011 draft. If he was a prospect in the 2012 draft, he would go top 3 IMO, and contend with Anthony Davis for the #1 overall this year. And I'm not just being a homer in thinking this, I saw a thread on realgm about that topic, and the consensus seemed to be that he would go #2 behind Davis in this year's draft.

Throw in another top 8 pick this year, coupled with potential FA signings due to plenty of cap space, and this team will be a playoff team next year. Colangelo gets a lot of hate, but he's building it right this time.
