I thought they showed an overhead shot of the play during the telecast. I looked like it went wide from that angle. Simmonds reaction should be all you need to know it didn't go in the net.

"oh wait"
All of Petr Sykora's goals have been unstoppable. It is known.

Great game... after the first period. The Devils don't look like they can handle the Flyers' speed.

The only Flyer that didn't really get going, from the second period on, was Jagr. He seemed about a half second off today and didn't really get into the game.

Lilja has been exceptional if you compare him with his usual self, I think. Solid on the puck, making correct decisions more often, has improved his clearing attempts A LOT. If he can keep this up he's a perfect 6th/th D-man.

He's making a hell of a lot better decisions when pinching or knowing when to stay home. That's what he needs to keep up.

Good game with some bad calls in it.

The Devil's forecheck did exactly what I though on our end of the ice. Never gave us the chance to set up, and I think that was the reason for the 1st period woes this time around. Seems like the Flyers have a tough time with teams that have strong neutral zone play too.

Either way

Bryz would have played a very good game if not for that Sykora goal. He kept us in the game when the team was working off the rust.

As it stands it was only a decent game. He needs to cut out the soft goals. I know it was a breakaway, but he was in position to make the save and it wasn't a hard shot.

Mistake by Voracek on the Sykora goal, looked like he fanned on the shot, but Bryz has to make the save. Those are the exact goals Ed Snider demanded we spend $51M to make sure don't happen, regardless of which guy in front of him blew it.

Regardless, Bryz still played well enough to win. We were the better team once we got it together. Bad start is the norm, bad call on Carle led to PP, preventable Sykora goal tied the game. This was the game I was most scared of, but we won. It will be tough and close, but I still expect the Flyers to win in 5.

Yeah, sure Sykora's goal was on a breakaway and all, but the finish wasn't all that amazing. Bryz should've had it. The other two goals I'm not blaming him for at all. Plus, he came up huge several other times, so overall I think he had a pretty good game, even though he looked VERY shaky.

What a game. We were really sloppy. But we managed to do it.
Danny keeps on going, Roo is money and Bryz actaully kept us in it.
Hopefully we can play 60 mins like we did in patches there.

For your listening pleasure:

Danny boy breakaway - 1:05:15
JVR - 1:09:45
Roo Bomb - 2:01:10
Briere OT1 - 2:52:20
Briere OT2 - 2:56:40 - Call of the day

Notes: Timmy and Chris called the goal off the skate right off the bat. Tim was talking about JVR, whilst he scored, which was hilarious.

I doubt it's too announce that everything is fine, happy, and grand.

First thing that came to mind was Pronger, but if it was anything dealing with him I would think it would be Snider and Homer. I really have no clue what he is going to be announcing.

Edit: Didn't think this one through, he just said the Flyers making an announcement not him So i'm scared

Could be similar to what the Sixers just did. Moved from 610 WIP to ESPN 950 for the radio broadcasts.

Maybe we finally fired our goaltender......out of a cannon.

Still wouldn't be as fast as Matt Carle's slapshot, though

I heard the Flyers once brought in a sloth to play goal in practice, to boost shooter confidence. It still made saves on Carle.

The shooter-tutor has a 4 year shutout streak going on Carle.
