I'm trying to figure this lighting thing out.....

So for years people have said that MSG was so dark and dim,

Now you have players saying its too bright???

At the end of the day Lundqvist has to play under the same lights and on the same ice, I don't even see why an opposing player would bother mentioning the ice/lights.

No, they're complaining that it's too dim.

Alright I guess I misread it, but my second point still stands.... its not like lundqvist has any kind of advantage. He is playing under the same lights, just seems like a silly thing to mention.

This is just begging for a meme. Something like: "MSG Lighting. Trolling opponents since 1968."

Well I guess the argument could be made that Henrik is used to the dim lighting. But the reality is every rink has it's own eccentricities.

Every arena does has its quirks, you're right...

I wonder if after the rangers won the cup in 94' Kirk Mclean said "yeah, well if the lights at MSG weren't so dim, I would have done better"

I'm just saying its just a terribly weak excuse....I feel like players years ago never said such nonsensical things

go sit in the prudential center if you are used to going to msg you'll feel like you need sunglasses just to sit down. LOVE the crowd lighting at msg so much better than the new buidlings its like when they turn the lights on at the bar at 4am its painful

You're giving him too much credit.

It was 14 shots

It's such a cop out to complain about the lighting, I doubt it makes any difference what so ever. I akin it to blaming it on the noise level of the crowd or something.

IIRC the lighting at MSG was changed around '97 and if I further IIRC, it was changed for the worse, with many complaints being made back then.

That Torts quote is so ****ing awful. I swear this guy has generic quote note cards for each day of the week.
To me that's a pre-emptive strike towards the media...he's already been asked about the "history" against the Caps and he pretty much shot that down...at some point in the series the Caps will probably open things up, if that happens you know the media will start asking if he has to change the game plan....he's just giving fair warning that he's gonna go with the style that got them this far.

Nobody saw Kreider's shot until it hit the net. It was a rocket.

Home ice advantage! For years the bruins and Sabres had smaller rinks and some rinks had the penalty box right next the the home bench while the away team was across the ice, no one complained then!
