Damn, I thought it would be something good - like Bryz up for the Nobel Peace Prize for science or something

The Flyers will send Bryz to a Rangers - Washington game this week so he can see how a real goalie plays and he's not named Holtby

Can't say I blame Mr. Snider here. I was riding back from the Poconos yesterday, and was disappointed when I tried to tune into 94.1 to catch the game only to find regular season Phillies baseball.

I mean, the Phillies are still the big draw in town, and I understand that. But when WIP markets the FM station as the superior of the two (in comparison to 610 AM), and they choose to broadcast regular season baseball on the "good" station, and playoff hockey on the "bad" station, then well...I think Mr. Snider has a reason to gripe.

Apparently the crossover will start for preseason games next year. Not confirmed though as of yet.

My commute is usually the 8am hour, and for some reason I never hear anything but phillies talk on 610, even driving late saturday night, it wasn't the draft, it was the phillies. I'm not a fan of any sports talk in this town anyway.

The games will be called by the same guys, just a few stations up. How interesting..... Thanks for the buildup, Flyers.

IIRC, the radio PxP guy before Saunders is the current Chicago guy. And the person who preceded him is the current Anaheim caller. Both lasted a year with the Flyers. Jim Jackson came before them (pre-TV days).

Hate WIP they hardly talk Flyers and when they do it just sounds uneducated they dont care about the team at all. Let them rot with the Phillies and Andy Reid. I haven't listened to 97.5 but it cant be much worse I found a new station to listen to on the commute!

Summer of 1997. I think he was the PxP guy of the AHL team in Cleveland.

this is the first time in my life I have listened to a philly sports radio station other than WIP. I feel dirty inside

these two are already starting with the they are the number one station now because of the flyers and sixers. I am a hockey guy first and foremost but in philly its eagles>phills>flyers>sixers. WIP still has the top two teams

Yes, he errs with names but overall I think he is good. A funny moment with Brian Propp, Saunders mistakenly called the name of an injured Flyer during a road game and Propp said "I doubt it was him. He's back in Philadelphia."

I enjoy the radio guys and Therien's candor. Hopefully, with the news of today, the online broadcast is in sync with TV. Currently, there's a gap of a few seconds through NHL.com and it's even worse on WIP's site.

100% agree. the only positive is the fact I can hear the goal call on tv and then switch over to hear the play develop with the radio boys.

I used to listen to WIP all the time, but more and more I'm listening to 97.5. Also the Fanatic's iPhone app is great.
