I thought we played great this game. Very rare mistake by Hank and a total jobbing by the officials. Won't happen again.
What won't happen again? Hank making a mistake or the refs jobbing the Rangers? Both will happen, just hope they don't both happen in the same game in the next two weeks.
The biased refs caused us to lose again. After seeing the Rangers tie it on a PP and having momentum, then killing off the first (BS) penalty, they decided it was time to end the game. Back to back BS penalties in the 3rd = NHL win and Rangers loss.
I seriously hate the NHL refs and league officials. They ruin an awesome sport with their biased calls and decisions. If these idiots were held accountable like all other sports, this wouldn't happen. But too bad ESPN hates hockey and would rather talk about NFL and NBA 24/7.
absolutely infuriating loss. the refs handed this one to the Caps on a silver platter. Not worried about it. We made the Caps our ***** tonight all over the ice and hit them hard every chance we got. They won't last past game 3.
pissed off about the result but its even more annoying when the analysts go on about how well ovy is handling reduced ice time and ****. do u think hunter wants to play some scrubs over his most talented players??!? if their skilled players played with intelligence and consistent effort they would be getting ice time over significantly less talented players.
Both Ranger Fan's and Washington Fans are embarrassing themselves in these threads blaming the refs, diving, the newest harry potter book, as the reason for losing.
If we eliminate two mental mistakes this game is ours, If we continue to play this way we should be able to take the series. It reminds me of our playoff series last year just in reverse
The Rangers handed the Caps 2 goals on a silver platter....
...But the 3rd goal was the direct result of a terrible call. You can't let everything go for 30 minutes and suddenly start calling ******** stuff in the last 10 minutes of a tie game. That's inexcusable.
The Caps accomplished the mission of the visiting team, to go in and win one of the first two games. Now it's a 5 game series and they have home ice advantage.
Highlights:
A timely power play goal
A Marian Gaborik sighting on a nice play to assist Richards goal
Lowlights:
Bickel and Lundqvist gift the Caps two goals
Kreider and Rupp don't score on partial breakaways
also-- what's with this terrible hagelin/richards/kreider line? either use kreider/richards/gaborik or kreider/stepan/gaborik. stacking our speed guys makes other lines dumb
As much as I am a diehard NYR fan, I was not upset that Ovechkin scored. I am sick and tired of this fanbase being more concerned with taunting, than winning. That lame, Ovie sucks chant is not even original. When they did it in Game 1, I turn to my friends and say "watch, this will ignite him". I'm glad he scored like 30 seconds after they did it. Serves them right.
I'm sorry, but this is an idiotic post.
Of course fans are more interested in winning; not their fault our team dug themselves into a hole early in the game.
Wtf is this? On the post game they didn't shut off the mics of the analysts in the studio and you can hear someone whisper "he's definitely feeling the pressure" during Lundqvists interview.
What won't happen again? Hank making a mistake or the refs jobbing the Rangers? Both will happen, just hope they don't both happen in the same game in the next two weeks.
The Hank mistake. He had a meh game. I don't expect to see it again.
Very confident for Game 3. Capitals are much more inferior than most of our fears pegged them before the post-season.
You know what's nice? Winning faceoffs. Crucial to the possession game and this team's style of play. I am 100% confident that the Rangers win this series. Should have won tonight in spite of Hank being "off". Holtby looks shaky, just need to finish.
The senators are leaps and bounds better than the caps. Crap loss but hey you can't win em all. Regroup and respond with a win in Washington. Game by game.
I simply am not worried. The boneheaded move by Henrik on the 2nd goal - I can't remember the last time he did anything close.
Beating the Capitals all over the ice tonight, otherwise.
I'll blame the refs all I want. It's a joke how bad the officials have been ALL PLAYOFFS across the board for every damn series. The NHL really should look into this because it's becoming blatantly obvious.
