To all Ranger fans complaining about those of us saying the refs cost the Rangers the game:

1. A ref should not make that kind of a marginal call in a 2-2 game with 8 minutes to go, ESPECIALLY after a similarly marginal call 2 minutes earlier IN ANY LEAGUE, NHL or beginner level beer league.

2. Bickel and Hank screwed up. Yes, they shoulder some of the blame.

Completely agree. What is worrying me as a fan right now is not if they can improve their game. It's if they can continue controlling the puck and dictating play once they get into DC. After the regular season and first round, this team has shown nothing to indicate that they won't be able to.

I would love to have another Stralman right now. He may not play wow-amazing, but signing him ended up being incredibly smart and I would totally keep him around for next season.

When another team outplays you and you lose, you can accept the loss. The hardest ones to accept are when you outplay the hell out of them and they score a couple of fluke goals.

The annoying part is that we've looked better in these two games than most of the Senators series.

listen, guys. WSH did what the needed to do and escaped with a win. literally, they escaped. after watching our play last series compared to this one, I'm not worried at all. we literally pissed all over them for two straight games. we made a few bad plays and they were opportunistic but they have had no flow, no sustained pressure, no threat to their game at all so far.

the better team lost tonight and it's clear. Holtby should scare nobody. if we keep this play up and a few top guys show up for gm 3, there's really no need to worry. it sucks knowing that we let one get away that we owned but that's hockey and that's why they play the games.

WSH should feel good about the split but lets not jump off a bridge here. they need to do that 3 more times to winthis series and we all KNOW this team wont let that happen. NYR in 6.

Two stupid plays that led to goals and a few missed opportunities to score were really the story tonight. That Richards call shouldn't have even mattered, buy they couldn't cash in when needed.

if you play kreider with gaborik you can still split the lines (richards down) and the second line isn't a complete shamble with hagelin/richards/callahan (cally and richards both can score)

But they weren't cheering when the Rangers were creating pressure, going crazy when the Rangers were treating Green like their personal meat pinata, when they had breakaways, and the Garden itself was quiet when Rangers scored the two goals.

Right?

Stop arguing on whether we lost due to the refs or the two bad plays early on. It was both...Unfortunately.

No worries, I am confident we come back strong. Ottawa was a MUCH better team than the Caps, seriously

Better is an understatement. Hell even wins against the Senators last series were harder to stomach then this loss.

I'm sure Tortorella is saying do exactly that again. That was a good showing tonight.

I'm more mad at this loss than any loss vs the Sens. We OUTPLAYED them and a bad call leads to the GWG ... AWESOME

Richards has clearly elevated his game for the playoffs. He looks absolutely incredible out there night in and night out.

Im not worried at all. We take this in 5, I truly believe it. We have been the better team, and flat out dominated them for long stretches tonight. Im usually on the more pessimistic side, but after seeing that game tonight, it reaffirms my thought that we win the next 3.
