I thought sure this year Trotz had a decent chance of winning the Jack Adams award, but he is not even nominated? What gives?
I get that in the last few games, this could be a problem, but voting was in before all that! http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=630098
Judging by how he's prepared his team for this, the most important series in our team history, the voters got it about right if indeed he is not nominated.
Dineen, Tippet, and (if this is just regular season) Bylsma are all ahead of Trotz too. Trotz is a good coach, but this isnt like most years when he brought a bunch of no-namers together to win some games. Poile has built an awesome roster.

Some of our top forwards were cast offs on bad teams. SK and AK were unwanted and ineffective for Montreal (and worth very little in trade). Fisher was a 3rd line center on a bad Ottawa team. I wouldn't exactly call that the dream team. Trotz has got a lot miles out of those guys (and others). Although the odometer has quit in the playoffs for some of them.
I'm not terribly surprised that Trotz didn't get nominated this year. People are getting used to what he does, and, as someone mentioned, this roster is definitely a very talented one. People don't view him as having gotten something out of nothing this year.
