Just read that Evgeni Malkin and Pavel Datsyuk are now joining the Russian National Team for the Worlds Championships next month. Should be pretty cool for Tarasenko to play along side some true bonified NHL Russian Superstars. It's really neat that these guys never pass down an opportunity to represent their homeland.

April 30th is the beginning of KHL free agency, it is highly expected Kuznetsov will be announcing hes coming the Caps, so if theres anything to happen, its gonna be after April 30th, Tarasenko's agent though may suggest he wait for the new CBA to sign.

I don't knows gonna win the Calder next year, but with the likes of Tarasenko, Kuznetsov, and Yakupov, but its gonna be great having such great young Russian players that will piss off Don Cherry so much.
True about the Calder. It will be much more competitive and exciting next year than this year's. A lot.

That is awesome. Maybe he can talk to them about playing in the NHL over the KHL.

is Russian Jesus offensive? I say put it on his name plate. This is assuming that he can grow a kick ass playoff beard.

Technically, Vlad is short for Vladislav while Vova is short for Vladimir.

Vova -> Vulva -> Mulva -> Deloris

Tarasenko was ranked number 3 in the HF list of top prospects behind NHLers RNH, and Brayden Schenn. Schwartz came in at number 8. Very respectable showing by the Blues in the top prospects with Rattie cracking the list in the late 40s as well.

Agree for the most part, but wanted to add that I've heard Jeff Gordon talk about Tarasenko several times on his radio show. This past week Gordo said that he was talking to an NHL source, who thinks Vova will come over this next year, and I'm paraphrasing, since Vova "loves the NHL, just loves it".

I view this as a good thing. Kuznetsov has been all over the media over the past month or so, and Tarasenko has not. It makes me believe that the people in Russia have given up on realistically keeping Tarasenko. If they believed that they had a decent chance of keeping him, they would be blowing the media up with it.

I thought the same thing. I like Vlad's low profile this year and his personality appears to be polar opposite to his countrymate. Tarasenko appears driven, determined, and fiery while the gifted Kuznetsox appears immature, childlike, and nationalistic.

I saw Caps fans were using the "Olympic strong-arm" angle on why Kuznetsov stayed but at the end of the day, 2010 in Vancouver was a punch in the gut to Russian hockey and they will take the best players to avenge that embarrassment regardless of their past with the KHL.

The stipend thing is interesting but doesn't change anything. We know if money is what he seeks he ain't coming to the States.

I think the only remaining hurdle in this saga is the uncertainty over the CBA.

I can't see Kuznetsov's decision really impacting Tarasenko's. If Vlad wants to play in the NHL, he will. If he wants to stay in Russia and be one of the biggest stars, I can't say I blame him. I find it hard to believe that Russia told him that if he went to the NHL, they wouldn't put him on the Olympic team. They still put Malkin and Ovechkin on the team, why would Kuznetsov or Tarasenko be any different if they are good enough to earn a spot? Why make your team worse, just out of principle? I can't see the Russians doing that.

As expected:

Pavel Lysenkov
#STLBlues prospect Tarasenko told me he will announce his decision whether he'll play in the NHL next season after the Worlds.

These people need to stop tweeted information that is already known, it is really annoying lol.

I saw the bold and got excited for a minute. One thing is for sure though, no matter what his decision is, I'm glad he focuses on hockey first. I can respect that no matter what he decides. He clearly just wants to play hockey and concentrate on hockey. He doesn't care about the media or anything else.

Vlad is a classy professional.

When do the Worlds end? Lol. Is that after the entire tournament is over, or just when Russia is eliminated? I'm so anxious after reading that Kuznetsov is staying another two years. Still preparing for the worst, hoping for the best.

May 20.

I wouldn't be too worried. Tarasenko hasn't put down roots in Russia, unlike Kuznetsov, and everything he's done seems to indicate that he wants to come over, although nobody can be sure except Tarasenko himself.
