We are absolutely thrilled to find out Cristoval was available at 33, we felt he would have been gone in the late first round. We feel for a second round pick he is an absolute steal, possessing high end skill all around. We feel Boo with some tougher competition can be a top notch player down the road.

Next GM PMd
Great pick!

We'd all be pretty psyched if that's how Montreal's real life draft goes

But would Matteau fill a real-world Habs farm need?

I would rather Nieves with our late 2nd. It's much too early to take him there.

I lie Nieves but there are a couple of talents that slipped out of the first that I would take ahead of him.

Well, I've got 3 guys on my short list and there are 3 teams ahead of me.

Watch them go 3 in a row.

I'm confident enough that he won't be there when I pick, so I'll just say it; I'd have taken Thrower at that spot. Big fan of his.

Same here. Dalton's name is just never mentioned in this great class of D and yet, he is amongst the ones who will resurface in due time.

The scouts I spoke to that have seen him say he has good tools but has not dominated a very weak calibre of play. Red Line has him at 100 in April.

Good pick either way. I'll admit, yours makes more sense for Tarana. Would you have taken him (Sissons) if Matteau or Wilson were still on the board?

I probably would have taken Wilson over him, not sure though. I do really like Sissons though.

I like Sissons too. Only thing I'm concerned about is the lack of real stats improvement from one year to another year. Do understand that it's often about a whole lot of factors, yet, you do have to take that into consideration. But he has a lot of talent. That's for sure.

It was really the only thing that concerned me about him.

Stats? Meh. Chosen captain of one of the top prospects teams this year, and you got him 35th overall... again... damn you...

edit: and just to tip my hand a bit, I was hoping to have a crack at Sissons so I wouldn't have to choose between NHL bloodlines and 2 "local" boys right here...

With the 36th overall pick, the Anaheim Ducks are proud to select Martin Frk of the QMJHL's Halifax Mooseheads.

"Despite so many other good players still being available, we just couldn't resist grabbing a guy with 1st round talent before he fell any further. GM ended up making a homer pick. Sue him. Dude has all the skill of a poor man's Kovalev (quicker release, slower dangles), with 10X the work/grit (on good nights). You guys ain't havin' 'm."

But seriously, there are a LOT of players I would have rather picked instead of:

a) making back-to-back picks from the Q. Sorry Q fans, that kinda bothers even this Halifax native.
b) picking "BPA"... again. Last thing Anaheim really needs is another RWer in the mix looking to break out sooner than later, and there's a lot of quality left in absolutely every other position, lol. Whatever.

If you had picked Frk, it might have made my decision a hell of a lot easier!

2 picks in front of me and it's getting late, so I'm just letting everyone know that I will be on around 12:30-1:00pm tomorrow to make my selection.

lol, we know that's true. You might have been equally impressed by one of my alternate choices (since I don't pick again until 90 or some shyte); came down to either a defenseman or forward from that country we both like.
