Big props to Trotz and the Preds organization for sticking by their guns. Selfish behavior like this deserves punishment, especially in the playoffs. It takes a lot of courage to bench two of your better offensive threats in the playoffs down 0-2.

Honestly I don't think we have anything to lose being down two games to none.. Let the young kids who practice hard and don't get hammered the day before a playoff game play.. After all these are the players that were on our team the whole year and did lots of the work for us

It makes me wonder if Radulov/A.Kostitsyn were roommates on the Phoenix trip? I'm trying to figure out why Sergei or others didn't join them...

I have no doubt this will motivate the team to come out strong on Wednesday, but what will Trotz do for Game 4 after we beat Phoenix 9 to 1 in Game 3? Do they remain scratched for this series or do they return?

I saw a priceless quote on another board:
=================================
"Trotz told the players to take more 'shots', but he meant on the ice (and not at a bar)."

I heard they were suspended for basketball reasons.

That "Release the hounds!" comment is gold.

AK and his brother are known for this [golf'ed edited] so this is not surprising at all just one more reason HABS fans are happy to not have him or his brother in Montreal anymore too many team distractions.

http://www.thewhig.com/PrintArticle.aspx?e=1445475

Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey said yesterday he is "very concerned" about a report that brothers Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn and defenceman Roman Hamrlik have social ties with Pasquale Mangiola, who was arrested on Feb. 12 on drug trafficking charges

That better.

Anyone want to start a pool?

In all seriousness, I'm a Sens fan on the Preds bandwagon now and I'm glad to see this kind of player responsibility in the organization. If you don't like the rules, don't join the team. That simple. Good on the Preds.

He probably carries all of his awards around to show off to everyone or something.

Now call me an eternal optimist but this actually excites me. We get some hungry players in the line up and hopefully can get back to "Predator" hockey. This will go one of two ways. Either the Preds will sulk and go out with a whimper or they will band together and make this a turning point.

This. I'm excited about seeing Smith, Wilson, Toots or Hali in there. Especially one of Smith or Wilson on one of the top 2 lines.

With guys back in the lineup that have been committed to the team all year, maybe we'll finally get back to playing Predators hockey.

Sweet; now we have even more excuses people will make for Poile when he doesn't sign scorers.

What a selfish move by both players though.

Nothing comes easy for us does it? This playoff series has a huge impact on the future of our club with the Suter and Weber contracts coming up.

We've fought through adversity many times before. Time to rally around this one and in the process get back into this series.

I just typed in the two cities and my google maps says 33 minutes. I'm assuming that's without traffic, but then again 4-5 in the morning...

Well...we need a shakeup to spark the team. If this isn't one, then I don't know...

They close early. It's not Vegas. I've been to plenty of bars in Scottsdale. Last call is 145 am.
